OK, Ill go first.

Leeds go into this game without a loss in 8 and have looked pretty good in this period. The defence (2nd half of Friday apart) has been as good as I have ever seen it over this period and the attack is starting to click into gear now too. A cool, but dry day is forecast for Saturday at the moment so that should help the game as far as a spectacle goes. A big Leeds following pushing 5,000 should help too as the numbers should be pretty even.

Huddersfield are still a good team though and as they showed against us at the beginning of the season, have the capability to really do a number on us. If Danny Brough is on form, Huddersfield are a top team. He gets them going and pins teams back with his kicking game. If he can be controlled though then it makes our job a hell of a lot easier.

I think this will be a good tough game with 2 packs that will beat the hell out of each other. Im swaying towards Leeds due to our defensive line speed and the way we have been playing since Easter.

Ill go,

Huddersfield 18-22 Leeds

I would say it will all depends on Brough's kicking game. If we stop, which we have done previously, but completely failed to do earlier this season, then I would back Leeds by a score or two. If we fail to stop him, them potentially he will run rings round us.

Huddersfield seem to have our number at the moment, so I'm expecting a really tough game, in which we'll have to be at our best to progress to the next round!

Our forwards have been superb this season, and them getting on top is key to us winning this one I reckon. Brough will turn us round time and time again which his kicks, so it's crucial that our big men get back and take the ball forward in order to establish any sort of field position.

I was slightly concerned with the lack of discipline on Friday night. Huddersfield are a considerably better team than Bradford. If we give them piggy backs down the field they WILL take advantage, we need to cut out the needless penalties!

IF the forwards get on top, and give our flair players an opportunity to play, I fancy us to win comfortably enough as we did in the 2011 playoffs!

Huddersfield 16-34 Leeds

Someone noted the fact that we dropped 3 men back for every kick against the Bulls (not 100% sure if this happened all night) but we havent done that for years. Sounds like McDermott was getting ready for this week with that aspect of our defense. It certainly would make Brough's kicking lanes narrower. He has the ability to look up though and attack our gaps, just like they did with the last (I think) try they scored against us at Headingley when we dropped back... Wait, what? I don't even like the cup. Why am I talking about it like this... icon_lol.gifYeah, like who cares if we get knocked out. Frees up more rest time towards the end of the year icon_wink.gif

I'd rather go out now if it meant saving more Wembley heartbreak! Not sure I can handle another one!

Losing the cup final has never bothered me (and I have been to the '95, '00, '03, '05, '10 as a losing fan). It has always just felt like another game to me. Yeah, you win a cup, but it doesn't make you the Champions of your country. It just wins you a trophy. The difference in feeling between the '05 Cup loss and the '05 GF loss was massive though. I felt truly gutted walking away from OT. I walked away from the MS having a joke around and thinking why do the Hull fans look so down compared to us when they had just won.... then I remembered. They had to go back to Hull.

Only relevant if the team is kicking on the last of course. If he goes early then that tactic is negated anyway.

Leeds don't have a particularly good record V Huddersfield in Challenge Cup meetings down the decades. Only won 7 of the previous 16 meetings and were embarrassed the last time they met in the semi-final at Odsal in 2006. Was it Jones-Buchanan who got monstered right from the kick-off - pretty accurately setting the tone for what was to follow.

Looking forward to this game hoping Leeds can atone for that match and the earlier game this season at Headingley. Huddersfield's tally should be halved just by Leeds not needing to field a no-name on the right wing - which should give us a close game.

As for suffering yet more heartache at Wembley - only time will tell but I'd rather Leeds reached the final to at least find out as opportunities for this group to add the missing piece to their domestic winner's collection will shortly be running out.

Had we won in 2005 we would have held every trophy available to us.

I said at the time and it still applies now, that chance will not come around to anyone any time soon.

Same as the last few years I would rather win the cup this year.

I'm undecided to be honest. Huddersfield are a excellent side on their day and if they turn up and we don't we've already seen what can happen. However, they also seem to be a team that have mistakes in them if you put them under pressure so its important our defence, and kick chase are good, and we stop Lunt, and Brough getting quick ball. If we allow their pivots the time and space to provide quality ball they have the strike out wide in Ferres, Cudjoe, Murphy, McGilvery to tear us apart.

I'd hope we're better at stopping the offload than we were in the 2nd half against Bradford.

All in all though it should be a great game.

I fully agree with those mentioning Broughs kicking game but just to note Watkins on the wing not FB and Zak back at FB adds more steel and pace to that area of our defence imo.
I do still think its gonna be a tough match but i think we'll take it by 8/10 points.

Wasn't Hardaker at full back in both loses to Hudds last year?

If Brough gets knarked his game goes to pot - seen him do this way to many times for a top class player

In the round 9 Headingley game it was Jones-Bishop at full-back behind a three-quarter line of Smith, Watkins, Hardaker, Hall.

In the round 27 game it was Hardaker at full-back behind a three-quarter line of Jones-Bishop, Watkins, Keinhorst, Hall.
