I might be reading too much into it but Hetherington saying it was amicable between the two clubs seems to imply it wasn’t amicable between leeds and gale

Hardly disastrous to lose a player aged 33 who wasn't guaranteed to start and who last season played very little.

It’s a gamble that we won’t get long injury to either Sezer or Austin. Gale leaving had an air of predictability about it though.

We are crap in cover but having 3 first grade half backs at once is a luxury. They will feel they have enough cover if needed, and that it’s unlikely we’ll have as bad a season for injuries again.

Whether calculated or otherwise, the situation with the halves is a lot clearer now. No plan B shimmering away in the background distracting everyone in the process

We have no real cover at all now. We had excellent options in the halves for once and Gale leaving leaves us badly short in the halves now. We need to add another half now.

Myler will be the cover now

Myler in the halves looks alright on paper, but in reality we've won a scant handful of games with him there. I really hoped never to see Sutty in the halves again, but now it seems an injury away. I think Leeming is the best back up option we have to be honest.

Considering Luke Gale's injury record this is a very good deal for the player. Guaranteed to extend his wage earnings days for an extra year regardless.

Looks to me they have signed him for 1 year with an option of a second year presumably dependant on his fitness.
Hull will not be paying a fee which seems good business on Hulls behalf.
