| Good news for all concerned. Brett needed a new challenge and the Championship probably gives him a few more years, and we get to free up some cap space for where it’s needed more.
Now let’s go get a good prop and good hooker over the line.

| The best move for both player and club, good luck to Brett, he’s been hammered on these forums but I do think he put the effort in.

Don’t recall seeing much effort during first 4-5 months of last season.

| I'm sad that he didn't work out with us. Never lived up to expectations. In his first season I think he was one of the better players at the beginning, but totally misused.
The next couple of seasons I don't think we ever had him fit enough.
Last season he was definitely mixed. Overall not a great signing, but not as bad a player as you'd think reading comments on here. I wouldn't have been against a new deal, on reduced terms, but if we are building to the future it's probably the right call.

Maybe it's just me but I do find comments like this a bit distasteful. Yes he hasn't lived up to his potential and hasn't overall been a great signing for us but I just find calling players 'wasters' a bit much, he played most of last season with a knee injury which he has just had surgery on, he seems to be well respected by the coaching staff and playing group, a fan on a forum calling him a waster just seems a bit off to me.

| The biggest issue with Ferres was that he never lived up to the expectations arising from his form at Huddersfield that led him to becoming an international quality player. We rarely saw any aggressive wide-running and off-loading at Leeds - was this about coaching, or the player suffering too many injuries or a simple decline in form, or something else?
Unfortunately a lot of the positive things he brought to the team on the field were offset by his tendency to be penalised in critical moments of games.
It's probably the right decision to let him go with the number of better back-rowers in the team.

| What we signed was not what we got.
That being harshly said, he's been dogged by injuries, playing in a poor, rudderless team and y'know... things just haven't worked out. He needs a new challenge and we need a clear out and rebuild.
Things happen.

| Sometimes you have to let experienced players go to give youngsters an opportunity - that is 3 in him, JJB and Ablett.

| Can count on one hand the number of decent games he had for us.
Good to see the clear out continue now to add some quality.

| Think best move for all, but let’s not be disrespectful. Just didn’t work out at all. Injuries and bad timing robbed of us of a very good RL player.
