As a Lancashire CCC member and Leigh R.L.F.C. season ticket holder I am intrigued to see the Roses match and Leeds v. Leigh encounter taking place on the same day i.e. Friday June 2nd. Has this happened before or is one of the dates given incorrect? Anybody know?

Yes, it should have occurred this year when the Rhinos played HKR I think but the cricket was rained off.
The cricket should finish by 6.30 & the Rugby kicks off at 8 as you know.
I recall going to a game a few years ago & enjoying hospitality. Much to my delight Yorks were at home the same day & I was sitting in the stand next to the Yorkshire players.

Did this not happen a couple of years ago and everyone got funnelled into the north stand between it and the Carneige - I missed the first 10 minutes of the game IIRC - sunny Sunday afternoon I think?

I think it was vs Salford on Easter Monday 2014. Lovely weather for it and a convincing Leeds win.

Yes, but IIRC the cricket finished early, either bad light or rain.

The Leeds/Wigan cup game from 2010 with Lee Smith's winner was played in very wet weather so cricket will surely have had no play if it was scheduled that day.

There's a difference between them being on on the same day, which has happened quite a few times on Fridays, and them being on at the same time, which has happened only a couple.

Presumably this is the former?

I remember the Salford game clashing with the cricket a couple of years ago.

The fact that Yorkshire wrapped up the victory earlier in the day meant that there was no 'clash' of fans
There was an increased smell of urine though.....
