My daughter would love nothing more than to go to watch her daddy (Brett Ferres) play rugby this weekend, this is something she has missed out on ALL season due to the lovely chants that have been sung around the ground(s). Our daughter was born in the January and went to her first game in the February and hadn't missed many games in her 7 little years, travelling everywhere from Cas to London and even to Australia to watch him, so it just feels like she is being punished for something she is so innocent in.
I can't imagine for one second if you have children you would like to hear songs about you and then have to try and cover up what they are saying.
I know everyone is entitled to you opinions and "free speech" but please think about that little girl sat in the stand before you begin to sing about her daddy.
We are trying to just move on with our lives and it is rather difficult when you are reminded week in week out!"

Don't really understand the point of chants like these. They're not funny, they don't help the team, and I'm sure the opposition and their fans feel the same way. Most of all I'm sure Ferres doesn't want to hear them especially from his own "supporters."

It's a horrible chant. I'm not sure why those that do it see it as some kind of reward for scoring.

I'm not sure those that chant it are capable of rationale thought though.

Completely different. Everyone knows that he isn't the only man from Cas with a full time job (and he's actually from Pontefract). There have been some bad chants over the years and this is right up there. Wonder if the idiots who sing it can actually comprehend what she has said

Sadly it will probably embolden those that sing it.

Ironically though maybe the reason he can't concentrate on his game.

Maybe her dad should have thought about his daughter when he did the things he did

Cringe chant, please axe it ASAP.

You're clearly a perfect example of why communism and Christianity don't really work, they both attract pious preachers of moral doctrine that usually have no real humanity themselves.

Over the years I have figured out that the ground is mostly comprised of the following:

Northstand = older supporters and families
Western Terrace = Away support
Carnegie Upper = Prawn Sandwich Brigade
Carnegie Lower = Those that would like to be in the Prawn Sandwich Brigade but can't afford it
Southstand = Supporters of lesser intelligence and those that like to shout a lot without really knowing what is going on

How we can start a derogatory chant about one of our OWN players is beyond me , but that's the Southstand for ya.

Yes and that's something he has to live with....that doesn't mean we can't respect the wishes of a mother wanting what'll make her 7 year old daughter happy.

There is no place at a rugby ground for that type of chanting as the announcer says "RL is a family sport - foul and abusive language will not be tolerated". We have all made mistakes in our life would we want our faces rubbing in it?

Most on here hate it when simple posts come back to haunt them - how they would react if something of consequence happen I would hate to think.
