| If true then good for him.
I still maintain that he could do a job in the squad for us for a year. His offloading would be a useful skill coming off the bench for short spells.

Is he not off the overseas by now?

| It could also be with Toulouse, to help with their push to get up from league 1 to Championship?

| I think that if Toulouse could snap up Ali it would be a great deal for both parties. It was lovely to see him back in the blue and amber v New Zealand but my view is that those suggesting we get him back on a one year deal were being overly sentimental. He was great for us and I think we let him go too soon but...............that was a long time ago now and we need players off the bench who are capable of more than ten minutes here and there.
I hope it comes off for the big man.

Exactly! He would make a good one year signing for that off the bench role....especially when we are going to be so deprived of second rowers for the start of the 2016 season.

OQ: Delaney, Moon, Falloon, Garbutt
Galloway, Achurch, Cuthbertson Don't count on overseas quota as they all have British passports. So we still have one quota place left for next season.

I'm just repeating what GH said, not what I have personally worked out. Interesting in that case, that he would get it wrong ....
I never realised Galloway had an English passport, how does that one work?
I personally hope the rumours are true regarding Achurch and he's off to Australia. However, if that's the case I would like to see a quality back rower come in.

| We have 1 OQ place but 0 NFT places. Although as I understand it Ali wouldn't count on either.
Hetherington was obviously talking in reference to an NRL signing and saying we don't have space, which we don't.
As much as I like Ali I still don't think it's the right move to bring him back.
We've got enough second rowers. If someone of quality or a long term signing were available then fine, but I don't think Ali fits into those categories anymore.

| We do have plenty of BRs it's just they're all so injury prone. You won't get full seasons out of JJB, Delaney or Achurch. Stevie Ward has been very unlucky with injuries too, I very much hope he doesn't continue with this misfortune.
I know since being stood in the right place at the right time and scoring THAT try, some on here have now forgotten how useless Josh Walters was last season n tipping him as one for the future, but I really can't see any potential unfortunately.
So in my opinion we don't look as strong in the back row as others may suggest.

I cannot understand why esteemed 'southstanders' (him) state we have 'enough second rowers' !!! IF for the start of 2016 they were all fit that might be an arguable point, but we already know we will be starting without Stevie Ward and JJB, so that leaves Ablett, Delaney and Keinhorst...and who else exactly? Walters needs to vastly improve to be a genuine contender .....
Like Faloon, Ali IMO would have made a very good stop-gap signing for 1 year - until better longer term solutions can be implemented.

| I#d certainly rather watch Ali come off the bench for 12mins next year than every last one of our 2nd row options behind Ablett and Ward (and Ward likely won't be fit to start the season).
