Many congratulations to Mac and the team (off field and on) for a 100% professional performance. Despite the season finishing injuries to Sutcliffe, JJB and Aiton we continued towards our target of the treble with our first trophy. Sinfield took on the hooker role very well and showed that our style of play and ability to carry out a good game plan was not dependent on Aiton well though he has played this year.

Let us hope that we do not suffer further injuries to key players which thwart our deserved further success. On that point is there any news of Burrow's injury?

If we can beat saints this week I think top spot is virtually guaranteed, given that saints and Wigan have still to play each other .
The GF could still go any way. Wigan have troubled us this season , Saints could come good and a few big performances from cas or Hudds could change things

I do think we'll go on to get the LLS now thanks to not slipping up vs Hull the week before Wembley, so that'll be two titles.

The playoffs/GF are still as much in the balance as they've ever been really though. A potential Leeds vs Wigan GF is still a 50/50 for me.

I've re-watched the game, and we actually played better than I initially thought. The aggression with and without the ball was superb for 80 minutes, it was as clinical a display as I've seen from anyone in a final.
It may seem strange given that we scored 50, but I don't think our attack was as fluent as it could've been. I think Sinfield has been excellent since moving to hooker, but we're missing him in the midfield, and we've been a lot narrower.

Also re-watched today and confirmation that we were very, very good. Also that HKR were not *all* that bad, just that our defence was superb. They carried plenty of threat, but we snuffed out any break, diffused any kick, and later on forced errors with defence. They'd have scored plenty of points against most other teams, and that in turn would have made for a game with different momentum.

Dixon's been getting a lot of grief and he did have a nightmare in the second half, but was actually pretty good in the first and we still were 16-0 up. Also he and Kelly were their only attacking threats - plenty of other teams wouldn't have covered his half-breaks which led to his errors. If KR fans are looking for poor performers they should look more to Welham, Mantellato and Blair, as well as a comprehensively beaten pack.

Obviously Briscoe is going to get MoM with 5 tries but Peacock and Watkins were the other stand-outs, both in attack and defence. Everybody played their part though.

The BBC coverage was superb throughout - the pre-game, the commentary (even Davies was ok for a change) and the interviews. It's going to make going back to watching the joke Sky coverage next to impossible.

i thought that garbutt was great yesterday he has really stepped up to the plate for us since he arrived,he is a no frills type of player but he certainly gets through the hard graft

I though Ward was superb and got through so much of the unsung work that extinguished any HKR threat.

I have a similar opinion about Ward to what I had about Ablett at the same age. He oozes class in everything he does on the field.

Garbutt and Ward (and Sinfield) would actually have been the next three I'd have mentioned, but covered in "everybody played their part"!

I Don't think we were as bad as the score suggests, but it has happened. You were too fast, strong an skilful for us and totally deserve the plaudits at the minute. Kieron Dixon is taking some flack but like you say he still took the ball forward and looked like he gived a , I hope he learns from this and holds his head up. Well Done Leeds Rhinos. Quality Outfit.

In the first half it was the 2 tries back to back that was the killer (going for a short-ish kick off after McGuire's try was a dumb idea really). Thought though that KR did very well for the final 20 mins of that half.

Blair puts that kick in early in the 2nd half near our line.....if a KR grabs it and scores then he 2nd half plays out differently.....but Briscoe goes the length of the field and I think the KR players knew then it was game over. Which is obviously a bad thing against this Leeds team in a final quarter of the game as we can do what we did.

In the end, HKR should be proud of their run to the final. Just got to the final in the wrong year and faced a team having a very special year trying to send off its two beat legends in style. Had you faced the 2014 version of us in the 2014 final, you may not have won but the scoreline wouldn't have looked like it did yesterday.

Having watched the Golden Decade DVD, I'd guess that those of us who suggested winning the CC last year was so big to the key players that it played a big part in the failure in the league and play offs thereafter were closer to the truth than the 'we're not good enough' brigade. Its for that reason I at least expect us to put in a strong run to the end of the season.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bit of a hangover for Sts, but I expect a much better showing in the play offs this year.

Spot on.

Tried calling it last year but kept getting shot down. The post match reactions on the Wembley pitch from last year to this is very significant contrast. A sense of 'finally we've completely the missing piece' in 2014.....this year an immediate post match huddle to say enjoy this but we've still got two more prizes we want.

The mindset is very different.

I think theres a cold determination to win the treble this year. Last year was all about filling that CC hole in the golen generations CV to the absolute exclusion of everything else. A clean sweep is the stated aim this year.
