Saints March Into the Semi-Finals - Includes Semi DrawWith Hull KR, Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves already in the hat for this afternoons Ladbrokes Challenge Cup semi-final draw, this afternoon it was the turn of St Helens and Widnes Vikings to vie for that last place.
Super Leagues second place side had a home game against the team nine places below them with the bookies making the home side the clear favourites. Denis Betts would have spent the time since the draw readying his side for this match and they would come to Langtree Park intending to make progress.
Make no mistake, Saints were embarking on the post-Wellens era with a tough encounter against a side who could upset the pundits and take the spoils.

| Leeds vs Saints
Warrington vs HKR
Toss of a coin between us and Saints
Other semi looks interesting, every chance the way both are playing ATM that we might see another 'new' face in the final after Cas got there last year.

| Cunningham saying that Widnes 'played the ref better than Saints'.
A sore loser is only trumped by a sore winner.

I thought that was particularly true in the first half, but that he was a bit more balanced in the 2nd. At the end of the day a lack of composure at some key points and some individual mistakes cost Widnes for mine.

Generally correct however the big game changer was his decision to award Saints a penalty for a ball steal when Turner clearly dropped it leading to Amor's try.Saints had all the momentum to go on and win the game from that point.

I agree. But like us Saints know how to win the big games unlike Widnes.
PS Saints also know how to lose them.
As do we in Challenge Cup Finals.

| I expect we'll have to go to Wigan, whilst the Wolves play HKR at the John Smith's stadium - if it's available.

| Yeah, it depends on whether the football stadiums are available. Wire vs HKR at Hudds (or Headingley), Leeds vs Saints at Wigan (or Warrington).

Flipping getting to Headingley from Gods favourite town on a Friday night across the M62 will be a nightmare.
Similarly for Rovers fans coming from the other way.

Aw hell yeah! Been ages since we've done a weekend afternoon game at Warrington. It's my favourite away place when it's not a night match.
