| Seeing as it'll be a transition period for you guys, I still think you'll have a Championship winning squad!
1. Zak Hardaker / Thomas Minns
2. Tom Briscoe / Handley
3. Jimmy Keinhorst / Luke Briscoe
4. Joel Moon / Josh Walters
5. Ryan Hall / James Duckworth
6. Danny McGuire / Kallum Watkins Can also play as well, if another half back paring is chosen
7. Liam Sutcliffe / Rob Burrow
8. Brad Singleton / Mitch Achurch / Rob Mulhern
9. Paul Aiton / Robbie Ward
10. Andy Yates / Jordan Baldwinson / Rapira?
11. Jamie Jones Buchanan / Brett Delaney / Elliot Minchella
12. Carl Ablett / Mason Tonks / Alex Foster
13. Adam Cuthbertson / Chris Clarkson / Stevie Ward
Out
Kevin Sinfield
Jamie Peacock
Kylie Leuluai? Is he going?
Foreign Players (Non EU etc...)
Joel Moon
Paul Aiton
Rapira?
Brett Delaney
Adam Cuthbertson
Mitch Achurch
Your squad looks young, British and dangerous!
What would your core players be, I'd like to see Watkins at 6, and get one of the younger players at :
1. Hardaker
6. Watkins
7. McGuire
9. Aition
14. Burrow
What do you reckon?

| Duckworth, L Briscoe, Burrow won't be at Leeds next season.
Adam Cuthbertson is not on overseas quota as he has an English passport.

Are they all confirmed as leaving?
So can Cuthbertson play for England, or has he already represented Australia?
I'll amend the above if true.....

Rumoured signings are Mickey Paea and Cooper Cronk on the available cap space freed up by the departure of Burrow, Leuluai, Peacock & Sinfield. Would make sense to me, as it means Sutcliffe isn't thrown straight into the 6 shirt, and we have time to develop Lilley into a starting scrum half to partner him.
Also both Cuthbertson & Achurch have British passports and Delaney has completed his residency period IIRC, so could apply for one.

| What do you think about putting Watkins at 6? He is like the British Greg Inglis / Darren Lockyer, could play anywhere in the backline really. I feel he's wasted at centre sometimes, doesn't get enough ball.

Really? Doesn't sound like a credible rumour, According to Wikipedia, he was on £320000 in 2014 with the Storm, Can't see Leeds being willing or able to compete with that or anything like it.

| Leeds can definitely afford it, the question will be cap space after we get another prop in.

| Doesn't matter where Cuthbertson, Delaney and Achurch qualify for or get passports for. They're not federation trained, so still count towards that quota alongside Moon.

| Is burrow def off to Cas? Given the experience we are losing already in sinny, jp and prob Kylie that would seem an odd move.
Realistically i don't see us signing a top Aussie playmaker. The best ones are way out of cap range. Four pivots of mags, sutty, burrow and aiton seems sensible and offers the opportunity to ease sutty in still.
We will get a top prop, maybe a back up till we ease mulhearn etc in over next year or two.
As for Watkins at 6 - no. We need to work on getting him good running ball, not moving him. The key is playing Achurch wider coming onto the ball from deep.

| The best ball Watkins is going to get is direct from the halves, rather than from a wide running second rower. The key to getting him good ball is to get the likes of JJB, Achurch, Delaney etc out of his way and have him pick good lines off the ball-players.

Yep, the best thing for one of our best attacking players is to have to beat his opposite number and the 2nd row stood inside, or the halfback stood outside depending on the set up.
RL is a numbers game at heart. Beating one man is tough, beating two is almost never done. Draw the man and pass.

Yep. They'd still count towards the non-federation trained quota but those with EU passports (plus some South Sea Island nations) would be exempt from the Overseas Quota.
I make itNon-Federation Trained (Max of 7)
Moon
Aiton
Delaney
Achurch
Cuthbertson
(Leuluai is exempt because he was here when the rule was brought in)
Overseas Quota (Max of 5)
Moon
Aiton
Delaney
Leuluai
Unless any of those 4 have an EU passport etc in which case they'd be exempt. I'd heard Delaney was taking a British citizenship test, may be wrong but if we're wanting more than 1 NRL signing for next season it might be true.

| Their's a story just up on the YEP about Delaney training to be an electrican (with some other SL players) so it could that he sees himself staying in the UK and I think he's coming up to being here long enough to qualify for citizenship.
