We got our monkey off of our back by winning the Challenge cup.
St.Helen's got their monkey off of their back by winning the Grand Final and being champions.
There is also another primate included in this year and we all know who he is. !!!!

It is what is called double standards by the RFL. They will slap his wrist and he'll walk away with an 8 match ban probably. It made me laugh, that sky were advertising the up and coming boxing match that night in the interval.
The best quote by Barrow police on twitter: "When out and about tonight don't act like @WiganWarriorsRL Ben Flower or you will end up #bangedupinbarrow" - He will be reviled by all RL fans apart Wigooners as he has brought the best game into disrepute and that is all that Grand final will be remembered for now - an act of pure thuggery. Shame as St.Helen's were good winners and have played good rugby with an injured squad.

Just because some consider physical violence worse than some name calling doesn't make them wrong and you right. This high & mighty moral compass is a pretty arrogant position to hold.
Basically your telling everyone what their moral priorities should be!! not sure why you consider your position to be more appropriate?
Assault/GBH is still considered a very serious crime in this country far more serious than prejudice - perhaps the powers that be have it wrong too?

Depends on the context.....
Case A, the homophobia is gay man being verbally and physically targeted/bullied because of his sexuality, and the punching is one guy cracking another whilst both stood up facing each other having an argument.
Case B, the 'homophobia' is an RL player blowing a kiss to another straight player and maybe calling him a poof, and the punching one is cracking a guy who is on the floor unable to defend himself.
In Case A I'd say the homophobic issue is worst, in Case B I'd say the punching was the worst. |
