| If we win on Saturday, would you be satisfied with that for the season? i.e. No hub-cap, no Grand Final.
Personally, I'd take a win on Saturday and be happy with that. I't's the one missing piece of silverware that some are saying stops this current team from going down in history (6 GF and 3WCC is sufficient for me for this team to go down in the annuls of history, both in terms of Leeds teams and in rugby league in general)

| Certainly very happy for the reasons you have stated.
Although still seen as a successful year if we win just the CC, i think the SL crown is there very much there for the taking if we can re apply ourselves in time after the final and would be seen as a bit of a missed opportunity if we fail on that front.
The Hub cap means very little to me.

| Agree. My priorities for this season (and since 2009) were 1) CC........, 2) GF,......... and a very distant 3) Hubcap.

| Even if we hadn't had so many final defeats and the legendary players coming to an end of their playing careers, I'd still be delighted to win the Cup and be very happy with that for the season, given our league position will still be pretty good.
It's one of only 2 major trophies on offer each season. To win one is a successful season. The only way it would be a disappointment was if we'd won the cup but had a terrible league season.

"The Golden Generation finally has its Golden Fleece! They have Wembley Cup Final winners medals to add to their collection."

| Yes absolutely and thought that a few seasons now. If we win on Saturday then not winning the GF wouldn't bother me this season.
I know the main prize is the GF but in unique circumstances such as the one this squad has found themselves in then it has to be completing the missing piece. Whereas winning the GF is about not only the players, but the club, the fans, the city. This one is IMO purely for them. I'm in my late 20's so fairly confident I'll someday see us lift the CC again even if it's not Saturday. But these guys only have one or two more cracks at winning it before being condemned to repeated questions over the next 20/30/40 years about "the one that got away."
I think if you asked the Leeds players at the start of the year which one would they prefer if they could only have one, then the majority would say CC. Now some fans may not like or agree with that as they see the league as the important one. But these guys have given us 6 GF, 3 WCC, 2 LLS, memorable playoff and cup semi wins over our nearest rivals Wigan, Saints and Wire......so if that's the one they want most to complete the set then that's more than fine with me., they've definitely earned the right to aim/focus harder for the one they haven't won IMO.
McDermott himself said last week that the squad has had Wembley fever ever since we beat Saints in Round 5. That was back in April and 16 fixtures ago, that just tells you how much they want this one. I think it also tells us how much our regular season has been impacted for the last 4/5 years when the thoughts are so geared towards this competition. It's hung like a shadow it seems now for a good few years and I think our regular season this year in particular would've panned out much better had we won one of those previous finals from a couple of years ago.

| As most have always said on here the Grand Final is the main one and personally i think it should always be taken the most seriously , but i will be delighted for the long serving guys to win on Saturday and as i have posted once before to dedicate it to those of the Golden generation who have missed out

| More than happy. To finally win at Wembley after all this time would be awesome.

| Be good to finally nail this one especially - as has been said ad nauseum - with the 'Golden Generation' for whom this may well be the last chance they will get.
However, for me, there is nothing that compares to the thrill of Grand Final night at Old Trafford. Probably some of my favourite sporting memories on planet earth etched on my mind from those very special nights, 2004 was amazing as have they all been and in all honesty I would rather one more victorious night like that than anything else.
Having said that this team and the Sinfield, Burrow, McGuire, Bailey, JJB core group deserve the national media exposure winning the CC brings with it!
SO COYR!!

| I wouldn't swap a CC win for a GF win any year. I would like to win both. But I am also quite realistic about expectation (as opposed to hope and optimism). There are 2 main trophies to go for every year, and 5 or 6 clubs who can win one or the other. Any season where you pick up one of those pots should be seen as successful.
So for now, I really really want us to win the Cup. We can think about the GF later.

| Fingers crossed for Saturday whatever the result I hope we are in good enough nick to still be able to really go into the playoffs in much better form than we have been for last three months!
Now beginning to get nervous...

| I'd be more than happy to win the CC this year of course in terms of "kudos" I think the GF will always rank higher but it would be great for the "Golden generation" to lay this bad omen to rest.

| I think the golden generation needs to win the cc to complete their careers. What would be really special would be the double though.

| Whoever wins tomorrow will have to be at the top of their game. Two very good teams both capable of fast attacking rugby and both with tough committed defenses, so it will be which side makes the fewest errors and is the most committed on the day.
Let us hope that both teams are able to field their best players and there are no injuries or bad decisions by the officials and that the best team wins it..... and I do hope that proves to be Leeds.
