First off, great game. Entertaining from start to finish.

Just wondering what has happened to McShane for you? Is he injured or just left out. Thought you missed a dedicated hooker tonight.

Also, is McShane generally unpopular there?. I ask only because i havent seen much of him this year really.

Coach doesn't like him so he doesn't get a shot. His form has been very hit and miss this year, but unlike many other players, one bad game sees McShane banished for weeks.

A lack of a regular hooker has really hampered Leeds efforts this season.

McShane despite many chances has never shown himself to be good enough.

Yep, much better to take the best scrum half in the squad and play him out of position to compensate. Still at least it means we have our best players on the pitch most of the time, regardless of how suited they are to the role they are being asked to play.

Seriously, are you Brian McDermott's dad or something?

True he's always been at fault for poor performances from Kirke ,Bailey & players playing when injured ,a 7 that cant pass from the ptb and lets not forget he's the reason "uber coach" has got things wrong when performances /selection and results have been poor. a046.gif

No but I think you maybe McShane's dad?.

Burrow has been one of our best players and his combination with Sinfield at hookers has worked well. Burrow did ok tonight and our problem was not at hooker or in defence. We lacked the go forward from one or trwo forwards and badly missed Delaney and a fully fit JJB.

I'm certainly not McShane's dad, nor am I the kid's biggest fan, but I can see that he's a much better hooker than Burrow.

Burrow is the best halfback in the team and has been for years, it's a fundamental mistake not to play him at 7 for the full season.

Give it a rest rhinoms. You have been wrong about McShane who is clearly not good enough, wrong about Burrow, wrong about McDermott and now Kirke's performances could prove you wrong about him too.

McShane doe not have the class or application to be consistent at Champion level and he is not better than Sinfield either. So IMO he is just not an option anymore.

I fully agree, but would you have dropped McGuire at the start of the season?

Yea very true JC kirkes 3/4 good efforst over 2 years have proved me wrong as has our Coahc tonight tactically and selection wise.
As for Burrow the lad is a Club legend but THE regular 9 we are lacking he isn't but of course you know that but as per yer long winded exchanges with TVOC yer cant admit when maybe some of us may have a point.
I have no qualms with admitting the Coach turned it around in 2011 and even 2012 and handling the 1st part of the squad transition or praising Kirke's efforts these last couple of weeks your problem is NO-ONE can do no wrong win lose or draw!
Also as a paying ST holder and traveller to most away games ,Acadamy matches and testimonials/friendlies I'LL ALWAYS reserve the right to my opinion whether it matches your remit or not.

Frankly yes I would. It really comes to a choice of Sinfield or McGuire in the halves as with the lack of pace they both have now, they can't (or shouldn't) play there together. Burrow at 7 and McGuire or Sinfield at 6 would be the best utilisation of them, and given that McDermott will not play Sinfield at 13 he has to play at 6.

Of the 3 players, McGuire is going downhill the fastest, but that doesn't mean he isn't still useful.

Regarding McShane, the fact that he's the best option we have at 9, yet is not really what you might call "Leeds standard" tells you that we have needed to recruit a top quality hooker ever since Buderus left.

I think you will find I do accept it when a good counter point is made. But I do not agree with some of your judgements that is all. By keeping repeating the same old point does not mean I have to finally agree with it.

I have never suggested you should not offer your views, quite why you always resort to stating your rights when it is not in question is beyond me. My comments are usually in response what I consider unfair criticisms which doesn't make me right either icon_wink.gif

I have never said "no-one can do no wrong" but there are enough with a negative view on here without me joining in

The "negative view" is purely an opinion on indidual/collective performance though whether the Coach or players.
Most on here offer a balanced and reasoned view JC yet 99% of the time you'll defend or resort to past results as a reasoning to why those views are not valid in your opinion.
Nothing should be beyond question/discussion negative or positive on either side i agree 100% maybe the tone or point is getting mis-read in some cases and to be fair its not easy to detract from what was a monumental effort tonight from a broken and beaten team on the back foot but imo questions still need asking and changes need to be made throughout the structure.
