| Introduce a defined, ongoing international schedule of:
Year 1 - 5 Nations down under (Eng, NZ, Aus & top 2 other SH sides eg PNG & Fiji)
Year 2 - Aus to Tour GB & France
Year 3 - 5 Nations here (Eng, NZ, Aus & 2 NH sides eg France & Wales)
Year 4 - World Cup
Year 5 - 5 Nations down under
Year 6 - GB Tour down under
Year 7 - 5 Nations here
Year 8 - World Cup
Plus an annual mid-season Home Nations comp of all the Home Nations & France.
I know it sounds a lot of games but internationals are our way of getting noticed outside the heartlands.
An expanded 6 team World Club in 2 tiers. The 1st, just as now, the World Club Challenge
SL Grand Final Winner v NRL Grand Final Winner
Plus a World Club Plate (or whatever name is suitable)
Challenge Cup Winner v NRL 3rd place
SL 3rd place v NRL 2nd place
Then winners play each other in final
(I know it's not that simple as for instance 3rd place could win both the Cup and the GF as well but you get my drift)
As for domestically, it's mainly just a few tweaks here and there.
- 5 year licensing with far more detailed and transparent reports
- Give the Championships an extra share from the tv deal to go into a pot for marketing
- 6 team SL playoffs
- give the CC winner a place in any expanded WCC
- reschedule the CC so there aren't as big gaps between rounds
- When SL teams play Championship teams in the Cup they must only use 1 overseas player
- design a better & continuous trophy for finishing first along with place in expanded WCC if 1st doesn't win GF
Amongst encouraging/forcing/bollocking clubs to pull their fingers out and run themselves a bit more professionally and a bit less like they're still in the Pennine League.

| For me it would have to be the play-off system.
Top 4 teams only.

There could be real mileage in this. As long as it's scheduled and financed right. All you'd have to do then would be ensure that a team from each country reached the final to maintain public interest...
Hope BT are prepared to enter into a bidding war with Sky for TV rights.
Strengthen the game in France so it can support two teams (at least) in SL. The pool of talent is there, it needs to be nurtured and channeled. Hopefully right up to the national team. There is little future in 55-6 England victories.
Work out some form of draft system as in the NFL. Given that we do not have the University sports pyramid as in the US the only alternative is the amateur game and the lower leagues of the pro game. Losing the pick of their talent each year would be a bitter pill to swallow but money talks and if they were adequately compensated it could be worked out. Where academies would fit into this I don't know. Their days might be numbered. It does have the benefit of levelling up the competetiveness of the teams but shuts the door on promotion and relegation. If that one can be sorted then solving the Palestinian question should be a piece of cake.

What about two leagues of twelve playing each other once before splitting into three leagues of eight for the second part of the season to play home and away? No one would ever suggest such a thing would they?

| Is it the game that's at fault,I speak as some one who played the game for a number of years. Also I have watched the game for a long time. At the moment some of the games are dire, boring and predictable, most teams seem to play for territory . The result is five drives and a kick, I am not for one moment suggesting the six tackle rule should be changed but I have spoken to a fair number of aged retired players. Some who were top internationals and they all said the six tackle rule would weaken the skill factor.
The explanation being that a team works its way up the field, gets close to the opposition try line and either gives up the ball or tries the usual grubber kick over the line. Some would say that if a team is smart and skillful they could achieve that in six tackles.

A fair point, but the fact is the modern game is obsessed with players stats, how much yardage has been achieved etc etc. also field positions hence Phil Clarkes diagrams of ptb field positions.
At least we have some players who can score from deep in our own half,as the odsal try last Friday which was instigated by Ryan Hall fielding the kick and setting up superb try.

Most definitely better than adopting union rules and letting the RFL run it.
