The winger, who scored 23 tries last season and featured in the World Club Challenge and Grand Final wins as well as the Challenge Cup Final, has been advised to avoid all contact for three months whilst he undergoes a course of treatment after which time he can resume full training.

get well soon Ben. I had a blood clot behind my knee,and whilst I was still allowed to run I had to avoid body contact. The Warfarin I was taking thins the blood and if I had cut myself I was warned it would bleed like crazy . Fine now though

Get well son Ben. The pre season medical could well have been a life saver here. A Pulmonary embolism could easily have been fatal.3 Months out is nothing compared to the lifetime ahead
