| Now then pop pickers. Seeing as though this is a popular kind of thread at the moment here's my contribution. Select your top 3 moments in Rugby League that haven't included the boys in blue and Amber. Here's my starter for 10:
1: Wakefield v Cas relegation decider in 06. I attended the game and have never experienced such drama being a neutral.
2: The 3rd Test in Sydney in 1988. First time I ever saw us beat the Kangeroos live.
3: 1987 WCC Wigan v Manly at Central Park. 30 odd k rammed into CP with 2 legendary sides going at it hammer and tong. Proper RL.
Your turn...........

| Off the top of my head
1. rlMelbourne Ashes test 1992 (including a good fight where Schoey caught the ref with a stray haymaker but GB still got the penalty
2. rlJonathan Davies Wembley try vs. the Aussiesrl
3. rl"That's not a try that's a miracle" - Queensland last min origin try in 1994rl
Honourable mentions - wide to west try; Willie Nelson being owned by Kidwell; Sam Burgess vs Fuifui Moimoi; Wigan vs Broncos World Club Challenge in Australia; and many many plays by Darren Lockyer (simply the greatest player I've seen)

| I'm not sure about top 3, but 3 good ones from memory are 'Wide to West', which was bloody hilarious, Doncaster -v- Batley promotion decider at Mount Pleasant in 1993 or 4 (around that time anyway) and the Old Trafford test where Morley beat up Tallis to the extent that Tallis went crying to the authorities.

| Jonathan Davies in the corner for GB at Wembley, brilliant stuff
but for top 3 I saw live and in person i'd pick (in chronological order)
- Yorkshire's almost comeback in the "origin" game at Headingley - what an atmosphere in the Southstand (and free chocolate on the way in)
- Samoa v Tonga at WC08, the war dances, the atmosphere, the pitch invasion (and the train ride home)
- WC08 final, a thankyou from the NZ captain for our support, Kiwi, Kiwi, Kiwi!
any England tournament win would wipe these out, oh well....

Last game of the 93/94 season. My uncle scored the winning try for Donny. I have his shirt from that match hung up in my wardrobe.
3) The above game, one of my earliest rugby memories.
2) York beating Fev 27-26 at Post Office Road in the 5th round of the Challenge Cup in 2004. We beat them 4 times that season, but that was the sweetest.
1) York City Knights first ever game in 2003 against Hull KR. We lost 34-24 in front of over 3 thousand people. It was quite a change from York Wasps last game against Chorley in front of about 200 of us.
I just stuck to 3 moments I saw live, but there are countless others that I will never forget. It's what makes our game so special.

Who;s your Uncle? I know a mad keen Donny fan (well, he was at that time). I'd love to tell him.

| My money's on it being Brendan Carlyle.
Is there a prize, I hope there's a prize, there simply has to be a prize.

Brendan Carlyle. He had a glittering career at Fev Colts, York, Hull FC, Scarborough Pirates, Donny (Dons & Dragons) and Heworth.
It's what got me into the game, I saw my first game at Clarence Street when I was 2 or 3 weeks old.
TVOC, any ideas who York played around the end of the 1986/7 season?

| He was good lad in that Donny team. They'd assembled a very useful little squad at the time. Carlyle was one of those honest players, who wasn't the most skillful, but would never stop trying.

From what my Grandad says (and my own vague memories), he was a sneaky bugger... kind of like a less skillful Tommy Martyn or Lee Jackson!

Sorry fella but unless it was Leeds (around that time) I don't carry that info. It wasn't Leeds so that narrows the possibilities down a bit.
What you need is a copy of the Rothmans Rugby League Yearbook (7th Year) 1987/88 (I think that's how they worked) - I've only got 1 to 5 and 14.
