I can't believe the difference in the mood of this board compared to last year.

Anyone would think the Aussies were playing London Skolars the way fans on both sides of the Pennines have been talking. Whilst I am much less optimistic than I was 12 months ago, I still have the kind of hope any underdog should have. Indeed, the kind of hope a Warrington fan might have held last year after being beaten by us twice in Super League.

I do think that we have been massively underestimated by just about everyone, including our own fans.

I'll tell you something - if we do manage to pull it off, there is more than enough sig material for every single Southstander on that Pie board.

I'm starting to get a bit of a buzz now.
We are capable of matching this Wigan side as has been shown in the two games earlier in season, just need to keep it up for a full 80 mins and outscore them.

Well I'm excited.

Saturday was dissapointing, sat in my seat watching Dorn score again, but I knew come Tuesday i'd be ready again and full of anticipation and hope for our Wembley trip.

Gonna be a tough 80 minutes of RL but we definately have enough to bring the cup home this season. Certainly not going to be easy and will be a monumental effort considering everything (momentum, form, tomkins ego) but possible.

I just hope we play to our potential and that, if Wigan do win, it's because they were awesome and not because we were poor.

Well now I’m actually going to Wembley I’m a little excited too (got ticket yesterday). But yeah I agree with everything kirkstaller has written on this thread. Leeds have every chance and rightfully so. Hopefully more threads like this one and the Sam Tomkins one will make this week a much better one. Alternatively we can return to that sombre mood.

I don't know about everyone else but I'm looking forward to this one just as much as any previous. Facts are we have ran Wigan very very close twice already this season, a different bounce of the ball on Saturday and how knows. Leeds have the experience and advantage from last season, see the Brett Delaney interview on the Rhinos site.

I'm looking forward to my day out for the Cup Final, as I do every year.

Bitter experience has told me that Leeds being involved usually puts a bit of a dampener on things. Let's hope that trend changes this year.

If I thought it was nailed on that we were in for a hammering I would still be going . As it is though I think we are in with a chance . I am not hoping that we get within 20 points of them . I am not even hoping that we put on a decent performance . I am hoping that we smash them off the field . I am hoping we embarrass them with a massive score . I am hoping we nil them . We probably won't , but it does not stop me hoping .

Does anyone out there know of a way to work out how much cake should be eaten relative to the level of disappointment when you are using the comfort eating excuse ? Or how much should be eaten when celebrating ?

The reality is that it is a game that can be won by Leeds , ok so they are going into the game as underdogs
But I have been to the cup final for many years now and one game still sticks in my mind as the day the rank outsiders won me £50 from a pie eater as he was so cock sure that they were going to stuff Sheffield Eagles he gave me odds of 5 to 1
To my suprise he actually came back to the pub and paid up!!! (What a great night that was!!)
