| Reading between the lines it looks like he wants to go back to Newcastle but doesn't want to let Leeds in the lurch.
If GH was cool with him leaving he'd be off like a shot.

to be fair I think we've covered this before on another thread as the news/speculation first broke in the Aussie press several weeks ago.
Reading between the lines of what the previous article I posted and what Bedsy has said in that interview IMO it's just a case of GH agreeing terms either by way of cash or replacement player.
I doubt we'll see him in a Rhinos shirt next year which IMO will be a big loss as given the hole we are in at the moment we need all the experience and commitment he brings week in week out.
I'd have much rather retained Bedsy for 2012 over the likes of Kylie and Kirke.
McShane looked really good early on this season and his interchange with Buderus worked loads better than it did with Diskin but IMO McShane has offered very little these last 6 or so games when brought on.
At the moment I'd prefer an extra prop (if we had any left at the club) on the bench over a 2nd hooker or at least an impact forward, but there again we're short of those as well given the demise of the once magical Ali and premature loss of Eastwood.

| Quote: Buderus "And it has been tough here. I was probably bought by a club that didn't need me. They had an established hooker, a great player, and I had to fight my way in. Straight away I went from being an 80-minute player to being a 40-minute player. That was tough, and I also had injuries. There were times I wondered whether or not I had done the right thing but it has probably prolonged my career and given me this opportunity to return if things work out."'"
The ball is in Hetherington's court. If Buderus leaves he's letting you know who made it possible. If Hetherington asks him to stay and honour his contract then I expect that is what he will do.
What a potential dilemma is in store between playing for Coach McDermott or Coach Bennett.

I can see your point but think re-Mcshane the last 6 games you are being harsh.
I'm sure the numbers Yoda will put me straight but he's hardly played enough minutes imo to have a real impact added to the fact he's come on (wigan aside) to a team playing sh#*e with very little go forward.

| The best swap would be Wayne Bennett at the Rhinos after he’s honoured his contact at the Broncos. I’d like Danny go for that!

If you saw him come on against Wigan it's not a numbers man you need ... it's an optician.
McShane is in danger of becoming 3rd choice hooker at Leeds behind Buderus and Burrow.

Ah yes i'd forgot that piece of coaching masterclass!
So when he's come on we're already playing cr@p.

true regarding the lack if minutes but again I think this is the issue with our 2 hooker rotation policy that failed so miserably with Bedsy & Diskin.
In reality I think Buderus can/should play much longer minutes but because we have a 2nd hooker on the bench we are duty bound to bring him on. I know we've been rubbish for the most part but I've had the feeling watching that we go into even more of a lull when Beddy goes off and then our intensity in attack and defence seems to raise (in relation to dummy half) when Buderus comes back on and often by then we are already chasing the game?
I'm not sure the 2 'proper' hooker policy has ever or will ever work for us?
IMO we are much better with 3 props and another impact forward on the bench, if we had any left given we've got rid of two of our better props and the next 2 'cabs on the rank' are out on loan and we replaced the impact of Eastwood with Hauarki

| The mere fact Buderus has come out and said what he has will put a lot of pressure on GH to let him go. He's basically said that he wants to return to Newcastle, but will honour his contract if Leeds make him. Good player or not, if he wants to be elsewhere he should be allowed to leave.

I might agree if it effects his committment and/or performance.
Some players would let it get to them and drop a gear or two, I haven't seen any sign of that yet. Leads the kick chase and the defensive line, hits harder than any of his fellow 'forwards' out there.
Judging by some of the recent performances he's one of the very few who looks likes he wants to be at Headingley at all.

| Wouldn't mind Junior Sau as a swap, we need a quality centre and he's OOC this year unless he's re-signed with them. Just not sure he'd want to leave. We'll probably end up getting fobbed off with Mad Dog MacDougal, more the age range GH is signing up lately, 30+.
