I think you're right Frosties. If the ticket prices are good and get a few Kiwis & Aussies in from around London it could be a decent crowd. Although the problem will be that even 50,000 in Wembley doesn't look great.

| they should use the JPT Final as a prospective, sell from the bottom tier upwards, and if it is not sold out, dont open the next tier, thats the only way I can see it looking right IMO

| PR disaster waiting to happen IMO.
I'd be surprised if it pulled more than 40k, if the attendances for recent GB/England games in the heartland and the games played at Loftus Road in recent years are anything to go by.

| I'm not sure as an opener. Maybe for the Final - But then you have the strong chance of Aus vs NZ final with just 20K tops inside the stadium. Either way I'd be in attendance, but I'm not sure how many fans would be willing to spend £60+ and 7 hours travelling to watch an international.

| A massive financial loss - not worth the risk in my opinion - fill a 40k stadium regularly and then think about a bigger venue.

| I would have gone for this sort of thing but put it at a smaller ground first, something like COM or St James Park.

| Problem with using football grounds for end of season representative RL fixtures is that it's in the middle of their season and at a time when the weather conditions make it more difficult to manage the pitch anyway.
You're not going to get many grounds putting their hands up to host 160 minutes of RL.
Doesn't the Olympic Stadium need to host "test" events before the games, in order to get a full safety certificate? If they are desperate to find a venue in London maybe that would present a high profile alternative?

| COMS back in 04 (was it?) was the best international games Iv been to as far as atmosphere and crowd size goes. Was it 38k?
As far as Wembley goes if it is marketed well, and I mean from now, with cheaper ticket prices and offers plus say a 2.30 kick off I can see there being a decent crowd. They have 7 months to promote it. 60k should be the minimum aim.

Could be a good shout that - would be more appealing than Wembley and would make a better marketing campaign.

| I won't be going anywhere, for any Four Nations match, unless there's free cake.
And it would have to be unlimited free cake.
They can bo[ill[/iocks if they think I'll fall for the whole 'One Piece' trick again.
And I'd need to see the T&C's first.
I'd need to be clear on the specific terms of what they deemed as 'unlimited'.

| I was at the tests against Australia at old Wembley in 1990 and 1994. Amazing atmosphere and amazing games. 1990 in particular, with just 50k in there, was fantastic.
What the hell, give it a go.

| Assuming I'm not on holiday, a game being at Wembley would be an added draw and I'd be more likely to go than if it were elsewhere.
We always go on about the importance of international RL, but how is it we can get 60,000 plus to a CC Final or Grand Final, but not half that to an international?
