| Missed tackles is a major major weakness for us so far. Hauraki has missed 11 tackles in 3 games. How the hell is he keeping his place?

| For what they are worth the stats don't look too bad apart from mistakes made and attacking kicks which kind of dictated how the game panned out, cheap turn overs and no final play so warrington only had to cover 60m to score.

| That looks like a very impressive workload from the Wire forwards Westwood and Harrison, whilst we have only Hauraki to break the 100 metres carry.
Perhaps a point to ponder......

| Our overall team performance compares well against Warrington.
The two things that stand out for me are firstly our lack of a good kicking game and secondly the number of errors we are making. Both of these IMO are more the players responsibilty than the coaches.
With regard to individual performances as Gotch has pointed out Hauraki has missed 11 tackles in 3 games and you have to add the fact that he has also given the ball away including interceptions.
But there were big efforts from JJB, Burgess and Ablett but only 4 carries from Kirke who is supposed to be playing as a prop. And why is Clarkson not on the field longer with Ali used as an impact player?
Webb only made 4 tackles with 2 misses. These are not good stats for a full back of a team letting in 40 points.

| How many times has Hall made less than 100m in a game tvoc? Just out of interest because there can't be many wingers who get through the work he does. And to say they normally kick to the opposite side of the field too.

Surely it is up to the coach to spell the players more effectively in this case. Or are you suggesting he was just hanging back and refusing to take the ball up?

Weller Hauraki missed a lot of tackles last year too. I'm not sure how Opta define it, but anyway here are the stats (his other stats are pretty impressive, btw, but notice also 3 Harlequins players in the 2010 missed tackle top 6)

He certainly does not display an appetite for taking the ball up and has no fire about him at all.

This is not an unusual statistic for Kirke. It's the 2nd time this season he's made 4 carries in a game.
As Juan says, he has no appetite whatsoever for ball. Since the end of 2009 he's been a complete waste of a jersey. People thought I was conducting some kind of vendetta last year. Now more are seeing it. Lazy, softcock. No other word for it.

JJB is a better comparison with Hauraki than Ablett last season - IIRC not much to choose between them other than Weller tended to cross the try line more. Hauraki strikes me more as an impact player in the mould of Lauitiiti. Perhaps when we get some more bodies back this is how they will be used...
On Kirke, he seems to have done a fair amount of tackling that suggests he was on the field for a reasonable stint, in which case ignore my previous post - that is a shocking effort for someone supposedly stepping up to be a prop.
Nice inclusion of Bailey's stats by the way tvoc
