The best way to police it is to call held the moment the ball carrier's forward progress ceases rather than allow defenders to wrestle the upright player and delay the tackle being completed.

However, that will reduce offloads and the type of entertaining broken field play that results from them.

Perhaps some of our pie-eating chums should take a closer look at the article and find anywhere that GH mentions either Michael Maguire or Nathan Brown or their respective clubs?

i don't blame wigan or anyone for trying it. The fault is with the refs for allowing it. Wigan did push it to far imo but can you blame them if it proves successful and they get away with it?

To be fair to GH hes right!
Salford, Catalans, Quins and Wakey were 4 of the dullest negative defensive teams in the division. They certainly spoiled the game as a spectacle for their fans!

Very interestingly Gary the gob forgets to mention that Wigans 922 points scored is higher than Leeds have managed in the past four seasons and 117 points more than when Leeds topped the table in 2009.

I would have thought after his tirade just before last years eliminator semi final at Headingley he would have learned to keep his mouth shut.
