| After hearing all the rumours and speculation I am suprised that nobody has suggested a coach who in my opinion is one of the most under rated english coaches around Karl 'Rhino' Harrison. A local lad who has always stated he would be happy to coach at the Rhinos, I think he would make an axcellent assistant to Brian Mac and fill the bill a tee.
Any thoughts ?

| There would be no rebelling or cliques within the team, and I like Rhino, but I think we need someone who has been closer to the top of the game over the last couple of years.

| I'm sure I heard him in a tv interview, when asked about a possible return to a SL coaching position, he replied that he was doing nicely outside the game and wasn't that bothered. Whether that was simply a throw away line, or perhaps a reaction to his time in management, I'm don't know. I don't honestly think that Rhino and Barry Mac would be a marriage made in rugby heaven.
Good luck to the guy with his businesses, but I think we should go for someone who would relish the opportunity of coaching at Headingley, and maybe be a tad more eager for the recognition that SL success would bring him.

| Only is he agrees to stop pronouncing the word 'defence' as 'dee-fence', and remember that it's 'attack', not 'offence'.

Only problem with that would be both coaches would be power house hard hitting forwards.
I don't have a problem with Harrison, and would be fine with that. 3rd coach would need to reflect the 2 props though so (for example) I would suggest that having both Demetriou and Harrison under McDermott wouldn't be the best idea. Unless they gave Sinnie a more defined coaching role.
It's all speculation. Should be an interesting few weeks!

If you mean the piece by Dave Parker in the League Express take it with a massive pinch of salt. He's got literally all his information on that piece about Leeds from this messageboard.

I think on one of the other topics Graham Murray and Brett Kimmorley were mentioned.

Kimmorley could be interesting given the rumour that we are in for a player to cover Danny's absence. Kimmorley on a short term playing contract and then to become assistant coach???

| Did hear a snippet off someone that our new assistant would have been Franny Cummins if he had know that McClennan was going to quit and he's not too happy about it either, mind you he was also saying that another few members of the backroom staff are heading over to Odsal too.

Dave Parker writes for League Weekly, not League Express
