| Everyone with any semblence of intelligence (and even some who don't have any, seeing as even Eddie & Stevo know about it) must be aware of Sam Tomkins "trap the hand to milk a penalty" ploy, so why does he keep on getting away with it? Granted, it ultimately didn't change the result tonight, but it so easily could have. The most annoying thing is that it's so obvious (unlike the "Schofield tackle" back in the day, which was a tad more discrete....)
Tomkins is a fantastic player (which kind of makes up for his looks and the fact that he's a niggly little ) but he's going to get himself a reputation for this when all he should aim to be talked about for is his ability.
But yet, Leeds are still by far the dirtiest, sneakiest team in SL????

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

So you are suggesting this ' clamping of a tacklers arm ' is something new ?
Every team does it
Now when it comes to tackling players without the ball ?

| Does anyone do it as blatantly and regularly as Tomkins though?? Or is he ok because he's the next messiah and can't be criticised? For the record there were two off the ball tackles tonight, one by each side - I didn't notice any Leeds players using Tomkins' tactic though, neither it seems did anyone else....

| It's about time the refs wised up to the cheating little , he did it twice tonight, once at Headingley in our last game which got them a penalty in front of the sticks and put them back in front after we got back level. He's undoubtedly a great talent but needs to cut out the sneaky gamemanship, When Maguire & Burrows burst onto the scene in similar fashion they had a similar arrogance in their play but played the game without the blatant cheating

| It's the perfect crime, isn't it?
Make no attempt to withdraw the arm, penalty for holding down.
Try to force the arm out, penalty for interference.
Hopefully now he's been outed by Sky, refs will start to look out for it.

Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army.
Rudge: Where? India?
Fletcher: No, Bradford.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_40413.jpg |

| Is it against the rules? No
So it should be looked at in the close season for a rule change as it is a deliberate holding onto the defending tackler to gain the penalty. It could be classed as the same as 'holding down' but the opposite

| Sinny is allowed to dispute penalties because he is the captain ... never mind penalised for dissent
