I wonder if somebody here remembers the Jewish players who played for Leeds in time past and Hunslet (I think)?

Also was there once a Jewish RL comp in Leeds and Manchester?

Leeds had a player called Wilf Rosenburg who's nickname was the flying dentist I think he was jewish cannot think of anyone else

there was once a club in the early days of the game[ rugby league was called the northern union then]
The club was called LEEDS PARISH CHURCH. I think it had a very big jewish following

Yes. Wilf Rosenberg (the Flying Dentist) came to Leeds from South Africa where he was a centre in the Union code. He became known as a scorer of spectacular tries including a brace in the win V St Helens in the Championship semi final of 1960/61 helping Leeds on their way to securing their Holy Grail V Warrington at Odsal for the first time.
