Good news for the RFL and SL (Magnificent 7 though?) but worrying times for the once Summer Era flagship club.
Bradford achieved two things on Sunday:
1) Their first home defeat by Salford in the SL Era
and
2) Their lowest Home Regular Round crowd (6,382) beating their previous worst by 773
In 1997 this same fixture brought in 14,095
Should Bradford lose next week away at Hull KR (extending their worst SL Regular Round sequence even further) could the Odsal attendance for the Les Catalan game that follows plunge even greater depths?
Before Leeds fans get too carried away though they'll do well to remember home fixtures in 1996 - V Workington and Castleford in particular.

| I went to Odsal yesterday (Free Ticket) and my next door neighbour actually said he thinks there were more Bulls fans in attendance than normal due to Mcbanana being sacked?
Must of been 50 Salford if that...

| Things are that bad over on the Bulls forum, that the 'Troll' thread created after the Salford defeat has hardly attracted any trolls!!!

I know. I might a half hearted effort yesterday, but it's like kicking a dying dog now.
Such a shame. Those days of 20 000+ crowds were great.

| I really don't understand any gloating over Bradford's decline. I want to hate them again. Which means that they get back amongst the elite and - yes I'll say it - beat us in big games every now and then.

| It's not gloating from me, rather it's concern. Anyone looking at Leeds and Bradford's best home attendance this season will note that it's still (as it has been for years) when we play each other and that rivalry feeds both clubs to a certain extent.
Leeds were turned around in their dark days by Mr Caddick's investment in the Headingley complex and Mr Hetherington's investment in the Rugby 'franchise'.
Who are Bradford's equivalents and without them are the club in a near death spiral of reducing incomes, leading to poorer on field performances, leading to reducing incomes ...... you get the picture.

| And after the Lord Mayor's show, aggregate attendances for Round 23 (after a quick tally) 45,099
Somehow I don't think we'll be hearing from the RFL this week. Crusaders V Castleford back in South Wales 1,459.

| Why cant they - having moved them from South Wales to North Wales - just leave all the games in Wrexham? With a crowd that small, I do not think that there will be any profit to be had on the day. Will the people who organised it to be played in South Wales foot the shortfall?

I would agree unless there was an issue of the Racecourse Ground being unavailable for some reason.
IIRC the Harlequins game earlier in the season that was lost to the bad weather was also due to have been played in Neath at the Gnoll. I shudder to think what attendance that may have drawn.

| As we are approaching the round ball season, there may be an issue as to the condition of the pitch. I cant really comment on the state of the pitch as it was covered in snow when I was last there!! Although I do believe we are the only team to take a decent amount of away following to the principality.
