I am not sure that is strictly true or the explanation as I heard it.

They want to fill three stands first and are not going to put any tickets on sale for the other stands until these have all gone!

So they are selling seats in both lower and upper tiers of the Direct Golf Stand (the main touch line stand to the East if you like), the whole of the South Stand (Saints end) and the lower tier of the Fantastic Media North stand (Leeds end).

Previously, they have always just not sold tickets to start with for the two upper tiers of the main East stand and the North/Fantastic Media stand.

They are making a huge mistake IMO and I think it will potential wreck the match day atmosphere with an empty West Stand along one whole touch-line and people forced to sit in the god in the East Stand, just to make it look good on TV... it is the RFL that are bloody pathetic!

Its normally empty when the giants play there

I still haven't got my tickets yet, been having some money problems at the moment.
Am I right in thinking that once the front row seats are gone they will be opening the upper tier of the Fantastic Media Stand?

That's the impression i got mate when we bought ours for the lower tier.

I might see if I can chance it and wait a little longer to see if they open it up. Last time I was in there 2003 (think that was the year) it was a cracking view.

Just phoned to get 4 tickets and they haven't got 4 together. They're currently waiting on the RFL & Galpharm to decide whether to open another area or not.

To be fair, I think the reason this has been kept a bit vague is that I think they have always intended opening at least the upper tier of the Fantastic Media Stand for walk-ups. I suspect that if they do completely sell out in advance they will open the West Stand for walk-ups too!

There is no-way on this earth they are going to turn people away if they sell out the stands they want to sell out in advance!

That is what is so crap about the whole thing, once again the RFL puts the wants of TV above the fans

Bloody hell really mate? That's stupid! Surely both the RFL & Galpharm must of seen this coming?

Nearly 3 weeks left to the semi and hardly any tickets left...They must open the FMS now.

Like people have been saying what about people who are going to pay on the day, were will they now sit?

They did see it coming and this is exactly what they hoped would happen. Bet you they announce selling tickets for another currently closed stand very soon and if they go well they will open the whole place to walk-up's on match day!

well when we got our tickets we wanted upper tier behind the posts, we were told the stand would not be opened for the game and only bought tickets in the lower tier because of this, the ticket office were told to expect us back if the upper tier does open and to be very angry about lies we were told!
