| The player whose speed most impressed me was David Smith back in the 70s.
At that time I'd definitely not seen anyone run quicker "live", so it obviously made an impression. I must have seen quicker Leeds players since but I'm struggling to pinpoint who I would reckon to have been the fastest of all.
Any views?

| Paul Sterling must come close. His cover tackling was incredible. He caught up with players who were clean through from out of nowhere. I remember one game at the Boulevard when the Hull player was celebrating as he ran to the line, only to have Sterling come up behind him and knock the ball out his hand.

Scott must up there. His humiliation of Paul Wellens in 2007 GF is a classic example of how real pace can be used to devastating effect.
Mind you, perhaps using running against PAul Wellens isn't much of a guide to real pace. If it was, Ali would be an Olympic sprinter.

| Ones that come to mind would be Calderwood, Bai (he still had some pace for his age) and little Leroy

| Rivett and Calderwood were great. If they got the ball with any kind of clear run, from whatever distance, it was a try. We used to celebrate as soon as Calders broke clear.

| For blistering pace across the park I'd tip Sterling as top dog.

| Paul Medley might be in with a shout, oddly. In his younger days he was really fast for a second rower.
There was talk when he broke briefly into the GB set up in the late 80's, that he was second only to Offiah when they did the sprint tests.

| When Fallon got going he could motor, but his main wepaon was strength. Strength and pace. His two main weapons were strength, pace and an alarming haircut. Three! His three main weapons were strength, pace, an alarming haircut and playing outside Craig Innes.
Amongst his weapons were..........

Fallon was no slouch, but will be no-where near the likes of Offiah, Iro (in his day), Sterling etc.
However for a big guy he could shift. Pure muscle and locks.
So pro rata, pound for pound, he could be up there!!!!!!
