I'm sure most of the posters on here will have seen this:
www.therhinos.co.uk/news/9615.php
I'm concerned based on Sinfield's comments that the team may be concentrating too much on the WCC rather than taking each game as they come.
The WCC is important but IMV not as important as ensuring that we pick up 2 competition points from each of the 3 games before that.

| Leeds have four SL games before the WCC fixture (Crusaders, Castleford, Wakefield, Salford) and all are fairly important, as building blocks for the Melbourne game that follows.
If Leeds were to concentrate especially on any one of their first five fixtures I'd hope it would be the WCC game. As was shown adequately enough last season losing two SL points here and there is not neccessarily season ending in that comp, whereas it's 'game over' in the WCC and Challenge Cup.
As usual the RFL have done their part in preparing Leeds for the Melbourne fixture (confidence building wise), as long as the run isn't too easy, which can be the danger when avoiding all of the bigger guns pre WCC.

| Without being disrespectful to our first four opponents we certainly do appear to have been a little bit spoon fed.

| I agree, but in previous campaigns it's been against some of the so-called weaker teams where we've come unstuck, eg Salford & Harlequins last year.
That is the point I'm trying to make all games are worth 2 points regardless of the opposition.
An easy start means harder games closer together later.
Another statement of the bleeding obvious I grant you.

I take on board what you're saying but it might be no bad things for the team to practice a "dummy run" of games where the aim is to gradually improve, then peak for the big one. A sort of simulation of the play off situation if you like. Although as the Rovers fan points out, it's the ones immediately after that tend to prove problematic.

I think Wakey will go well this year, and we seldom get an entirely easy ride from Cas. At the very least they'll be physical, which will be good preparation for the WCC.

Are these the same as the first four rounds from last year, just with the home and away teams reversed?

No mate we played Salford at home after the WCC and then finished the season at their place.
