| LOL at all the talk from saints about ''there's no pressure on us''.
''Leeds have all the pressure, let's see how they handle it''.
We have won back to back grand finals and are goingg for a potential 3rd in a row.
The current team has to date won 3 from 4 grand finals. If they lose it'll be 3 from 5. You win some you lose.
..........But if saints lose, thats 3 grand final defeats on the trot......against the same team no less.
Losing is a much worse prospect for them than it is for us.
And therefore they carry with them more pressure to win.
If we lose on saturday it'll be dissapointing for a short time but it'll be pretty easy to take, we've won the last 2 and have had our fair share.

I'm talking about the current spine so I haven't included 98 which was played by a completly different team.

| The difference is of course that the current Leeds side has shown it can handle the pressure of the big night at Old Trafford. Perhaps Saints are seeking to lift the pressure from themselves because they know very well what happens otherwise on Grand Final night?

You don't do a very good impression of a supporter of a team under no pressure.

Anyone not under pressure on Saturday will not perform at all and might as well not bother turning up.
As a supporter I'm $h1tt1ng bricks. I can see nothing between the two sides - for a third year in a row. The game at Headingley could easily have gone Saints way with just one missed tackle from Leeds in the wrong part of the field. There are many ways a big game can go, one team might not turn up, one team might pull off everything they try, a very small thing might go one teams way from the ref (in 2004 it was the Big Les dissalowed try - a matter of a few atoms of paint on the touchline).
I can't call this game, any more than I could call last year or the year before. The difference this year compared to last is that I won't be on a flight to Japan from Saturday afternoon till Sunday morning.

| Of course there's pressure on us.
Just look at how Graham reacted to the defeat at Headingley. Just look at how much 5hite the Saints fans came out with after that game.
Just look at the moronic 5hite that Stirlingshire Saint came out with to explain their GF defeats in the last two years.
If Saints win the Grand Final, they'll be lording it over us massively. There's simply no way that we can allow them to do that. We simply have to win the Grand Final.

It's a bit remedial but if I can assist here:
2004, 2007, 2008 is 3 titles in how many years?
Don't mention it, the pleasure was all mine.

Apologies if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the OP mentioned years anywhere. He said that the current team had won 3 from 4 GFs, which I took to mean 3 from the 4 they had contested rather than 3 in 4 years.

| Which kind of doylem wouldn't feel pressure walking on to the field on Saturday night?
Yet more top class posting from our friends from Merseyside, anyone would think they were trolling.

That's how I also read it.

That's a fair point and I have to concede now after jumping in that his '98 comment would suggest that was indeed his point.
I would say it's a fairly weak point. Leeds have won three out of eight Challenge Cups. That's not terrible either until you consider it's over a 32 period.
Semi apologies never the less.

| I agree, Leeds have nothing to prove so therfore have no pressure on there backs.
Winning 3 GF's in a row would be one hell of an archivement! If we dont do it we will have no shame. Just to be able to get into a position to win 3 GF's in a row is something special. If you would have said to me before the 2007 GF that Leeds would win that one, then go onto win the GF again in 2008, then get to Old Trafford again in 09, i would have been pretty chuffed to say the least! Dont get me wrong ill be gutted if the boys lose on Saturday but id also look back and think 2 out of 3 aint bad!
Whereas if Saints lose thats 3 on the trot and very very highly embarrasing! If i was a Saints fan i would be $h!tting myself. To lose 3 is so bad that im chuckling to myself at the prospect!
