Since 2004 there has been a definite swing towards it being unacceptable for any other team to actually have better tactics, better game awareness, better fitness, more hunger, more desire and actually beat the Leeds Rhinos.

When I say unacceptable, I mean it's unacceptable for any other team to have better tacticians, educators, coaches, dietitians and motivators than those employed at Leeds. There always has to be something wrong, McD out, Lowes out, Burrow in etc etc etc.

Is it possible do you think that Leeds fans can put their self awarded God given right to win all the time aside and actually watch their team and enjoy it for the sport it's supposed to be.

Or am I being simplistic?

I think for a club the size of Leeds, with the resources at their disposal, nearly all of the above is unacceptable. Most of the above can be rectified quite easily with the correct off field appointments and structures. What you illustrate above is exactly what Michael Maguire changed when he first came to Wigan and it was fundamental to us winning the Grand Final in his first year with much the same squad. Indeed those sound footings are fundamental to how we are doing now, Wane has just built upon it.

This basically.

What I cannot take is the poor discipline in the games and the lack of commitment from some players. You should have to earn the right to wear the jersey, some of the players seem to think its theirs for the given.

Of course it's ok for all that but lets not over-look how poor we have been and even with an ageing squad we should of competed much better in some games this year.
It's never about if the opposition have been better etc it's always how we have played and what we could have done better.
Every loss this year is well deserved but we should have been better against Wigan at home ,ST's home and away ,Dulls away and for teh 1st 25 minutes tonight imo.
That's not to say we didn't deserve to be beaten and still lose all those games i like many others have seen much much worse results wise and in some cases performance wise but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have been better.

Yes, it is unacceptable.

And how the hell are you supposed to be able to watch that performance, or last weeks performance and enjoy it for the sport it is? I dont mind us losing, but aslong as weve given some effort. At the moment were settling for what we have and making do and its just not good enough. Unacceptable I would say.

I was telling a Rhinos fan a similar thing the other day, don't think it got through but I did try. Leeds haven't necessarily got worse, it's just the teams around them have got better... much better.

Yeah! Damn right! I mean what have the likes of Webb, Hall, Sinfield, McGuire, Burrow, Leuluai, Peacock, JJB, Ablett, Delaney, Bailey ever done to earn the right to wear the jersey! I can't stand these journeymen who don't give a toss about the jersey or the club!

It doesn't matter if you're a supporter of leed, bradford, wire, wigan, saints...whoever....if you truly support and love your team then,
Yes it is unacceptable for any other team to be better than your team.

What isn't OK is Leeds not competing with the top sides. To simply say its OK for other teams to be better sounds like a lack of ambition to me. Its not as if the club dosn't have the infrastructure to carry on being succesful.

On the other hand, if you're a grown-up, fully-functioning adult then you can accept its just a game.

Yes, it's ok.

However the club, management and players should still strive to be the very best they can be. I think we are currently in a slightly lower league position than the capabilities of our side week to week. I don't think we are as good as the top two though or should expect to be over the course of the season

It is ok for some teams to be better than us. 2010 was a perfectly acceptable season, we gave it a great crack and came up short to worthy winners Wigan and Warrington in respective competitions.

What is not ok is for the set of players that we all know can do better, to run around like a bunch of strangers, with low intensity, and absolutely no structure in attack. The defence also looks bad.

Now I accept that we no longer have the best playing squad. We have lost Ellis, Senior, Lauitiiti, Buderus, Eastwood, Donald over the last few years. Are their replacements better than these players? Probably not, the first 4 were around 'world class' at one point or another in their Leeds careers. That is ok too. It happens and we move on.

But the complete bilge we have been served up for a lot of the last 2 seasons and especially over the last 2 games is unnaceptable IMHO. Last season was a success because we won the grand final. Can't knock it and no doubt it's keeping B Mc in a job at the momemt. If we do the same this year, fair enough, I'll hold my hands up, be ridiculed for doubting etc. As I said though, the squad isn't as good as last season, I really can't see us pulling a miracle out of our s again. Then IMO it will be time for a change at the top.

That's just it. No big signings, no crazy South Stand expansion, healthy balance sheet.

And call me a believist, but until it wasn't on, I actually thought Leeds would pull it back.

Siddall away for me tomorrow if anybody needs a fix. 1430 kick off.

A game and a team that, as a fully functioning adult, I and alot of other people spend alot of time and money on watching and supporting.
