Think we all agree we have no priority for a back rower with the emergence of Clarkson and the extra cover of Delaney and Senior. Besides is it yet certain Eastwood will leave ?

Prop maybe...but we have Ambler (especially) and Burgess (less so) to adequately cover the first 3 choices.

I [idid[/i think we should prioritise a good quality centre: Senior is still our best but 'knocking on'; Delaney is probably better placed in the back row and Smith will never make a top quality centre (appreciate he made England selection but that's more a refelection of the dearth of quality in SL...although Atkins is vastly improved it seems and Shenton should further improve playing with a similar top quality side).
Watkins might be one answer of course; BJB and/or Hall might be another ?? That still leaves us with a pacy winger then to find of course ??
As the ideal Broughton has just signed for 3 years with Salford I believe, maybe we could look to Chisholm ? (Certainly not Bush for gawd's sake).

Sooo what about a Half back ??? McGuire is class and getting better; Burrow is sometimes a 'worry' and inconsistent. The only real cover we seem to have is moving Sinfield back from the forwards. Webb offers some extra cover I guess with Smith or BJB moving to FB.....but this seems to be the area with the LEAST cover. Luck with McGuire staying injury free is the only thing to have prevented it being more of an issue this season.

I always say your forwards determine how many points you concede and your backs how many points you score.

With that being said I think we need to improve on the scoring part. Our stats this season vs last back that up. Wigans look comparable to our 2009 though.

We lack the spark in the 3/4 we've been used to over the years. Remember the deep line breaks what happened to those? Everything pretty much comes through Danny. There's no point going out and signing another do a job delaney just for the sake of it but if quality is/was available we should have a look. Maybe Wakins can provide said spark he still needs to have his full "fringe" year a la Smith and Hall had.

I think CC final highlights that in the fact that King and Atkins are a better combo than we have, in fact best combo in the league?

Forwards I'm less worried about but if someone becomes available then so be it. If JJB and Ali can find some decent form for next year they'll be like new signings. Ambler, Amour get a more important role.

Gone down hill imo mate much prefer Ablett or Clarkson at LF/BR.

I agree, says something about the squad that we could comfortably lose both of these players and still have a squad that is easily capable to challenge for trophies.

Besides not sure we need either of those two unless they are going to offer us anything above and beyond the current squad members....and I don't think they do.

Clarkson and Ambler are both at least as good (from what I have seen) IMO.

No need for a half back. We're very blessed there.

No real desperate need anywhere but maybe another prop with a big work rate, especially as Peacock will likely miss a month or two at the start of next year.

Would Fielden be worth a crack if the wages are not astronomic?
