2022 Betfred Super League Fixtures Announced
On the back of the announcement that Betfred Super League will be broadcast on both Sky Sports and Channel 4 in 2022, Super League can now confirm the full fixture schedule for the upcoming season.
St Helens will launch their defence of the Betfred Super League title at the home to Catalans Dragons, on Thursday 10 February (20:00), in a repeat of the 2021 Grand Final.
The clash between last year’s Grand Finalists will be the first live match on Sky Sports in 2022 – it will be followed on Friday night by Hull KR versus Wigan Warriors (20:00).

Doubt if there’s any ‘reason’ other than not building support and attendance! No home games from May 20th to July 21st must be some new kind of RFL torture. |

Too many matches either Thurs or Sunday. Wish I'd got the 5 game ticket now as will struggle to get to most games.

These are Super League fixtures, not the RFL.
Anyway, this sort of stuff is usually a request from the club, but for what purpose I don't know. |

We only have the 1 home game on a Sunday but I agree we have far too many Thursday home games, there needs to be some, sky pay a lot for coverage and want to show games on a Thursday which is fair enough but 5 home games on Thursdays is far more than our fair share. |

Apparently Leeds requested 4 weeks for the pitch to be renovated or something similar. Why can't this be done after the last game of the season as the union side no longer use it in the winter. Very poor from the club imo if that is the case. |

Hate the Thursday fixtures but not a lot Leeds can do about that.
I think its pretty poor by Leeds having no home fixtures for two months in the middle of summer. No thought for the fans and only about cashing in. They also only mention this once the season ticket renewal deadline has passed conveniently. Now we get a bit of overkill on home fixtures at the start and end of the season rather than spread out evenly across the season.
I have renewed for next season but may look at a five fixture membership the following season if we are to continue with Thursday matches as no doubt we will have some more of our Friday matches moved to a Thurs later in the season when Sky pick the fixtures they wish to showcase.

Totally agree. I'm fuming about it. Thurs night games are damaging the sport too imo. Bad for attendance figures. |

We need to start making some serious coin to fill the shortfall by the pandemic, concerts, strongest man or boxing I couldn't care less, get these events in I say.
While a month is a HUGE gap for attendances, I'd like to think we've learned our lessons from the absolute cabbage patch the pitch was in after the boxing last year so fair play for that.
This is the pitfall of having a stadium that can be multi use, we need to accept there will be sacrifices for the greater good. Exhibitions and little parties keep us ticking but big city events will really bring in the coin.
While not ideal, the faster we can claw back some £££ and potentially woo some nice corporate sponsors then all power to Darth.
