| I have just watched the match against the pies on Sky. I am very proud of the effort put in by our under strength team and the class they showed whilst dealing with every possible adversity during the match. Events and the the rub of the green conspired to give them nothing for their efforts. I thought the gracious manner Rob and Mac spoke with during the post match interview was a credit to them both.
I am sure that when the panel at Red hall review the match there will be some learning opportunities for the match officials, both on field and in the video booth.
Onwards and upwards the best team lost tonight, and all those who watched it, know that !

| Yep, a games like that always conjure strange emotions. We weren't out played, and we have some key players to come back. Some better performances from the likes of Ablett, on another day we'dd have won comfortably.

| I dont think we were the best team, lets be fair to Wigan in what was a great contest.A draw would have been justice imo, i thought we were superb at times but also dumb and reckless at others although you can't fault the effort 1 to 17 they dug in for the full 80.
None of us should get down about that.Big players to return.2 easy games on paper at home to finish the regular season and a CC semi on the horizon and we seem to be finding form again.

| Agreed, I do not think we need to be down, I think we are in a great position and in form, I also think Mac and the team will be able to take a lot out of the review, had just a couple of calls gone our way we would have won, or at least drawn.

I agree GL. A good effort that deserved at least a draw considering our light weight bench and injuries.

| So why did McDermott take such an issue with Rod Stud over whether or not he's ever said 'you get what you deserve.'
Sounds like the sort of thing most coaches would say on a reasonably regular basis.
How long before someone finds an example of McDermott using words to the same effect?
Good, competitive game overall.

It was rather cringe worthy, I thought he was going to call poor Bill an Ostrich at some point

| I think your comments about MAC during interview are most unfair. Clearly he was upset and Bill was trying to get the rise out of him. Unlike Cunningham and Wane he made no excuses for the loss and did not call his team or the officials. His only fault was being unable to mask how annoyed he was.

I don't understand what McDermott's problem was to be honest. Bill Arthur has never been the type to make cheeky comments to coaches. he was just doing his job and McDermott came across like a bully.

All I know is, that I wouldn't have a clue what he said. He has to be the most charismatic sporting coach I've ever come across.

Perhaps because he was misquoting him. And perhaps because he doesn't like him. Mac always gives an honest after match view and he didn't try to blame the questionable decisions going against us

| I will point out that the interviewer was Rod Studd & he was looking for a reaction from McDermott about the the refereeeing decisions that clearly went against us.
Typical crap journalism that BM dealt with remarkably graciously considering how he must be feeling.
He didn't fall into the same trap that Cunningham crashed into last week.

It wasn't Bill Arthur it was the annoying Rod Stud trying to be clever.

| Rod Studd, stick to darts pal. Mac was brilliant in that interview when everyone else connected with the club were seething
