My daughter and 2 of her friends aged 19 to 22 are coming up to Leeds on the 15th May for the weekend.
Can you suggest a decent place for clubbing.
I am not sure if they should stick to the Townhouse (if it is still there) end of Leeds or head for Oceana`s.
Before you ask they do not need an escort or a tour guide.
I offered but it was turned down for some reason.

Depends what sort of music they're into. Walkabout is a good shout, reasonably priced and some cheesy pop. Oceana on a weekend - will get robbed on the alcohol, they can charge £1 for a drink on Thursdays that they charge £3.50 for a few days later. If she wants decent bars & pubs send her to Headingley.

Complete dive IMO and full of chavy trouble causers, Like you say depends on the girls taste in music really.

Meh, it doesn't bother me, its a steady night out and a good laugh with the music. I enjoy it.

They are pretty much into the Dance music scene.
Don`t think they fancy the student scene to be honest.
Although coming from Norwich anything would be an improvement.

Call lane will be up their street if they are into bars where it's a bit more dressy! try Normans, Oporto, jakes, neon cactus, revolution, fire nite. The town house is still around the corner too.

I second this as call lane is the least studenty night area in Leeds. Neon Cactus has the best music IMO but Normans has the best hospitality. Jakes gets absolutely chocker block but I had a good time in they this time last year -



Oporto and Revolution aren’t too bad either.

Not a big fan of the fire club though. It was dead last time. That might have been because I was they though. People where looking in and then walking past..

Trouble?

I’ll tell you what proper trouble is. I was in Halo (church next to the uni) a few weeks back and a fight broke out right next to me. The barman got me the wrong drink (Australian Jizz) so I ended up outside looking like I was praying to Allah when in reality it was a clean way to be sick.

Bouncers let me back in still.

I'd second the shout for Call Lane.

Avoid Oceana like the plauge.

Avoid oceana! I pay 80p a drink of a Thursday and still detest the place.

The call lane area is good but it's mega expensive (£3.50 a pint in some places).

The o2 academy is good as somewhere to finish the night, it's about £4 in and £2 drinks which is great for a Saturday night.

Millenium square is a good place to start out.

If they are anything like mine they will also want money from you, lots of money, all to spend on one night out, and the next afternoon when they surface they will want you to make them bacon sarnies, and you will do all of this because its what dads do.

It’s a great place to end the night as well in the LGI..
