| So what’s everyone’s expectations for 2020?
To be honest after watching Warrington tonight I actually feel we’re in a better state than them at the moment (I thinkthere fans would agree TBH) and you could argue the same for Castleford, I think we would have beaten both of tonights playoff teams.
Anyway, I’ll be happy with a top 5 finish with some more of the younger players playing a few more games, I really hope McLelland makes the step up, looked very classy against Leigh at the weekend.

Warrington will be up there next season. They've turned into something of a mess recently bar the one game at Wembley but you can't have that much quality in the side and lose that many games. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they won the LLS next season with Widdop and Austin in the halves, Gelling and Matty Ashton in the centres. If they sign another prop they'd be my shout for trophies. Potentially, but they clearly have similar demons to Saints when it comes to big games.
It'll be interesting to see how much you improve next season. Your form improved dramatically but you were still easy beats for Saints even with a few rested so I'm not sure how much of that run was the other teams having gone on holiday mentally. Feels daft given your recent form, but it does feel like Agar is ultimately a mistake. He's got a response from the team, but it's got echos of Solskjaer at United about it, I can't see you being top 5 next year. But I'd like to be wrong, you have been missed, the league does seem to be lacking something and I think that's a genuine threat from Leeds in the play offs. It would also be good to see Hull also string a bit of consistency together next season with their new signings and for them to be a force as well. It'd be nice to have the top of the league as competitive next season as the bottom was this year.

I think it will depend on two things for us, whether we get a couple of more players in and if the younger players kick on, I think my point about Warrington is that as a Rhinos fan I’m happier with how we’ve finished than I would be if I was a Warrington supporter if that makes any sense?
Widdop will make a difference but I’m not at all convinced about Austin it’s probably unfair as he’s been injured but he does have a bit of flat track bully about him.
I don’t think Agar is the long term solution for us but I do think he’s the right man for next year although I would like to see Ryan Carr appointed as full time assistant.
Saints will be interesting next year a new coach could go either way

Decent post that. Agree with a lot of it.
My expectations for Leeds are to push for playoffs and I think that's what the club should be aiming for. We are not a million miles from Cas or Salford as a squad.
As Christopher rightly says it will depend on if they manage to bring in another quality prop and halfback. Whether Agar is the man to get us winning trophies again leaves a big question mark but I will get behind him. Be interesting if things go wrong how long he will last though.

| after the recent relegation haunting seasons I will be happy to be challenging for top 5 with no threat of the drop . I am being realistic by thinking we wont be challenging for top 2 for awhile yet and when we eventually do I don't think we will be winning 8 GFs and all the other trophies like in the glory period weve recently witnessed .

| This season i was hoping for 6-7 and being in play off contention.
So 8 was ine place out, but unfortunately fighting threat of relegation.
4-5 and in the play offs next season to make up for last two awful seasons. Want nothing less.

| I have no idea what to expect from Leeds anymore so I pretty much expect nothing right now.
In terms of what I would like to see that is realistic, avoid relegation, be in the mix for a playoff spot, not lose to a lower league team in the cup and see the youngsters progress. All should be realistic but honestly, who knows.

I think (well hope) they might surprise us a bit next tear, one thing Agar does seem to have brought in is a lot of team soorit, but that only gets you so far...

It totally depends on what we bring in. Can't judge anything until then.
Stay as we are currently, and we will not finish any different to what we have. Possibly lower, considering others have strengthened already, and we don't have the benefit of London next year. Strengthn ourselves and we should move up a couple of spots. But it would take some conisderable changes to get us to the level the top five will be at next season. Hopefully we take those considerable changes, and I do think Gale and McLelland will be a big upgrade for us.

London we're not of any benefit this year (for us I mean not the competition), quite the opposite!

Don’t agree mate on this one. We are a young side and I’d expect Newman, Walker, Handley, Smith, Oledzki to show improvement next season. Holroyd, Johnson and one or two others will be making appearances too.
Lui, Ava and Martin are all new starting 13 players, which we didn’t have most of last season and all made a difference when they came in.
The side that begins 2020 will IMO be superior to the one that started this year, even without the additional signing or two I’m expecting (and Mellor confirmed).
We do need some more surgery if we’re going to really challenge again, and I think the younger lads will need to be near their career peak which they won’t be at 19/20/21.
The club clearly needs to lick its wounds, regather and put in a big pre-season - but just one or two new signings and I think we’ll be OK. The squad we’ll start next year with is very different from the McD era end and we are in better shape, without me papering over the cracks.
I wouldn’t even try to guess precisely where we’ll finish next year but I’d expect we will be a club not in danger of relegation and showing signs of moving forward with the talent we have coming through.

| Had we appointed a proven quality coach I would have said top 5 without a doubt. Even without any signings I'd have said it.
With Agar I'm not so certain.
