We do have a lack of skill, composure and pace pretty much throughout the team. We work hard now, not like we did when RS claimed we were working hard, but we still lack basic ingredients. We are still short of a number of leaders throughout the squad as I don’t see Handley or Smith as genuine leaders. We should make the 6 this year, but without changes for next season we will not make another major step forwards.

Absolutely gutted to lose that one. Cannot fault the effort given the injuries before and then during the game, but it just seems like some of the lads don't have, and might never the develop, the composure to win big games. We tried our best to lose the gane on multiple occasions in the first 20 minutes of the 2nd half, and that kind of self inflicted damage always catches up with you in the end. Positives: Watkins was all class; Cassell is going to be a great player; Jenkins gets better every time I see him, and some of Newmans defensive contacts were awesome. Trying not to be too downhearted but it's going to be really tough to make top 4.

Yes we were massively underpowered up front, but deary me, coughing up ball after ball, not finishing sets, looking for miracle offloads, really poor kicks when we did get to them, yet more lack of composure with and without the ball, I could go on. And yet, we lost to a last second field goal. The game was much, much closer than it ever should have been. Take from that what you will. 

Doubt they will be many changes.Ackers from what ive been told wont be here next season.

5/6th is probably realistic for where we are at this season, a step forward (defensively) from last season, but still got many of the same basic flaws. We shoot in far too often in defence out wide, we don’t win the collision and slow the PTB enough. With the ball we are still not structured, we lack speed and skill and we go for miracle plays that the players are not good enough to execute.

I agree he missed most of Leeds forward passes and didn't pull you for offside once in the whole game!

That wouldn’t be too bad as long as he is replaced by a better hooker. A good hooker (which we don’t have at senior level at the club) makes every player on the field look better.

Added to a powder puff 2nd row combo, who were both dreadful yet again, and a marquee half who's just as bad, still plenty of work to do with the squad

In the cold light of day I think most people have now accepted our pretensions to being a Champion team we’re just that. The last month has shown where we sit realistically as a team. On last night in particular, we showed we lack the X factor players to dig us out of a hole, we have  a team that lacks cohesion on a regular basis, and we need a ref that isn’t going to drain us of energy in the really close games. Kendall should really change his name by deed poll to Starmer because his application of justice is exactly the same, two tier and pernicious.
