Heard Brad Arthur all but done to gold coast titans. Ian please speaking to Des Hasler to take up a long term contract with Leeds. Can't see him coming personally but he hasn't made his mind up but is deffo leaving gold coast at end of season.

In summary. OQ increased by 3 for 2026, salary cap remains as it was? Move to 14 team SL unlikely to be accompanied by material (if any) increase in funding. Affordabilty issues for some clubs in currently spending up to cap remain? Correct? 

I assume 14 teams will get rid of the extra fixtures (except magic weekend) with 13 home, 13 away and Magic.

Well whatever they have been doing and are currently doing needs changing as it's not working. Need to expand the comp and get rid of ridiculous repeat fixtures which give a very unbalanced feel to the competition. Sal cap needs increasing otherwise we're all being dragged down continuously by the weakest clubs and that has gone on long enough. 

We need to get a good TV deal that takes a bit of a punt on the comp becoming more successful in the longer term... it's a vicious circle.. 

As long as we don't go back to the middle 8s etc...

IMGs recommended plan was always to go to 14 teams and get rid of loop fixtures, but it was crucially when the game was ready for it.

Nigel wood and his cronies pushing it through quickly and extending the quota spots to 10 to try make sure we have the players is stupid short term thinking which the game has been blighted with for years. 

Moving on from Lisone, Wiremu Greig is one of Arthur's Parramatta old boys who will be OOC at the end of the season. Hasn't played a huge amount of NRL, but would be available at reasonable wage. Might be a candidate.

Lazarus Vaalepu at the Storm off contract for 2026. No idea at all if we could get him, but looks an absolute unit. 

Lisone has played half a season in the last two and half,most wanted rid after 2025 so don’t understand the moans about him going!I have no doubt we can replace him with a far better prop
who can have an impact but for more than 20 minutes.
