shocked. that came out of the blue. what a joke of a club
What makes you say it came out of the blue? They have been dreadful all year and just got thrashed by the worst side in the league barring Salford and he didn`t have a clue how to fix any of it. There squad isn`t great but think it`s better then what DM and Delaney have been getting out of them, they turn up every week looking like a bunch of players that have just met each other for the first time, completely out of his depth.

| Joke club, what coach could have possibly survived their appalling squad.
What benefit will it possibly bring, do they think they'll charge into the playoffs now?
Depending on how it would work in terms of synergy, I'd be interested to see whether we'd bring Danny back as an assistant.

I'd bring him back straight away. But probably not as an assistant per se. I think that may upset the dynamic of the current set up but maybe as a specialist halfback coach across all teams, mens, reserves, academy and even the women's team and have a hand in pathways. But he may just want to take his payout from gas and just do some easy media work for a while.

| On the other hand he was also shown the door at KR with them preferring Danny Ward.

Which is why I don't think a normal Assistant coaching job is the way forward if he is to come back

| It was just way too early for him to be a head coach. He needs to spend a few years working as an assistant or specialist halfback coach while he matures and learns how to handle players, the press and adversity. That's not a criticism, it's just that as a player he was 'full on', as a coach he needs to be more measured and that will come with time.I didn't like him much as a player, although I admired his skills...but feel he grabbed hold of the soiled end of the stick when Cas sacked Lingard, hope he's learned his lesson.
*Edited to replace a fine old English word with soiled.

He was one of the greatest ever SL players, do you mean you just didn't like his personality?

He was one of the greatest ever SL players, do you mean you just didn't like his personality? Exactly that, and while his 'spoilt brat' personality was fine as a player it isn't a great attitude for a coach. He certainly was a great player, but becoming a great coach needs a different mindset.
