| Good win, and very important to beat Saints, who have completely dominated us in recent times. That said, I thought it was an inferior performance to the losing efforts against Wire and KR. Did our best to throw it away with some really dumb stuff between the 30th and 70th minutes. Fortunately our defence was absolutely top class. The Hull game will be a really big one, we need Croft to come back and play to his potential to start moving forward as a team.

| We really need to find another Oledzski. We look so much better when he's on the field. I feel like we take a lot more soft options with the ball when Bentley and his Lisone are in the middle.

| I don't get all the bleating about Murphy's yellow card.
Quote from Wellens, for example. ""He just goes up to contest a ball. This is rugby league, it's a contact sport. Yes, he's contacted him in the head, but Murphy's got no intent. I'm flabbergasted."
I'm certain that 99% of contact with head incidents aren't intentional. Players either have a responsibility in this regard or they don't. Pick one and stick to it.

| I really don’t get the controversy with Murphy’s yellow, he’s jump leading with the knee, it was dangerous.

| There's no debate, it was dangerous. Far more dangerous than the reds we've seen for high tackles in the past couple of weeks. Sports commentary always makes me laugh when they form an instant opinion and then just double down on it because they refuse to admit they might have been a little hasty. Commentary was embarrassing yesterday when you're watching replays of a guy being flying kneed to the head.
Leading with the knee when challenging for the ball sets a dangerous precedent, in the Saints' disallowed try a knee was also firmly planted into the body of our player making it almost impossible to challenge for the ball properly. If you're allowed to MMA knee anyone when going for the ball, it's going to become seriously dangerous.
Wonderful to have Frawley out of the middle, and we showed some good signs throwing the ball around in the first half. Just a pity about all the errors in the second. Watkins looks great already.

| Also, Saints once again showing in sports that hiring a completely unproven coach because they're a club legend is almost always a recipe for disaster. Being a good player does not equate to being a good coach. Just because you're a club legend, it doesn't mean you can magically coach. It looks like the same Keiron Cunningham error they made a few years ago. Running on club legend vibes will only get you so far.
I hope to god it's something we learn from when we come to replace Arthur. We've seen improvements in our foundations under Arthur due to cold hard skill, not because he once played for our club 10 years ago.

Agree totally about the commentary. I don’t watch many of our games on the box, but I did yesterday and I found I was about 10 times as stressed as when watching a game at a ground. SKY have created a culture where controversy is the only thing that counts and their pundits (they don't really have commentators) are second guessing the ref for mistakes from the 1st minute. It makes for a hugely negative viewing experience.

| Good to go into the week off with a win, should have been by more, some very impressive metres in the stats.
Hopefully at least Croft to return for the Hull game. Going into a run of matches with teams around us which is going to shape the season.
