News Corp reporting BA will be unveiled as Perth Western Bears for 2027. Not sure whether that's good or bad news for us.

Well it would bring the uncertainty to an end, so that's a good thing. Where we go from here is anyone's guess. We need another coach who understands the value of hard work in a contact sport. Personally I think it's a year too early for Jamie Langley to take over directly, that would feel like we're going for the easy rather than right option if we did it now.

There is no one out there currently who leaps out as as a suitable replacement, Langley will get the job i reckon, its always a gamble with any coach change I think Langley could be a real bolter. |

Also a question of whether he could stay for 26 given the Perth wouldn't enter the comp till 27. Not sure how much leeway there would be, but a coach can't coach if he doesn't have any players. Perhaps an opportunity to extend for a year if homesickness and planning for the Perth job don't get in the way. Two very big ifs though. |

If, the job were to start after the 2026 season ends in Europe, then I'd consider bringing his kids over for a year (if the meeting next week on OQS and SC both bring developments). I'd feel better handing over to Langley if BA was to do one more year.
I too don't currently know of anyone I'd want to give the job to for next season, but I'm not Ian Blease...
