| Shaun Wane is very much in the BA mould, he would be a top choice.

| Wonder if we will give him a deadline soon to make a decision one way or another.. needs sorting. We also need to be planning for next year in good time.. it's no easy task with the Cap etc

| He can’t really give an answer until he has another offer in Oz. That’s likely to be a month or two at least yet. That said we shouldn’t wait around. We need to have some plan of where we are going next year, which positions to recruit and who to target. All of that needs a HC for next year first.

I think Wane would be a bad choice. Rowley is a proper coach, Wane's methods I don't think would work outside the structure of the Wigan club. Think you are being a bit harsh on Wane. A very similar argument could be made against Brad Arthur before he left Parramatta, but low and behold we are all desperate for him to stay. I have nothing against Rowley by the way, but I think Wane would be a more logical continuation of Arthur's methodology.

I'd prefer not to have either of them, I'd either sing BA's kids (Hooker and Halfback) or I'd get him to propose the right person from NRL who can continue the work he has started. Recycling British coaches will not lead to the continued club wide improvements we still need to implement / embed. There is still so much work to do.
Signing his kids is a very seductive idea, but ultimately probably not what we need, and probably not what they need. That said, I could see both young Arthur's in SL in the next 2 to 3 years.

| I really don't like the thought of Wane. He bleeds Wigan. It could go sour very quickly if we struggle.
Rowley would be OK, but not sure he's the man to take us to the next level.
I'm closely watching the situation at Penrith. If they continue to struggle, who knows..... Father and son to Leeds? That would do very nicely...

I'll have a couple of pints of what you're drinking Simmo. It would do very nicely indeed but I would imagine the bookies would give very long odds.

| Personally I would like to see Rowley in the job. I dont want Arthur to stay. I dont think he is cut out for the UK game. He wants boring, but I admit effective, "Direct Rugby" He has improved our line speed and defence but there is no cohesion with the ball in hand in attack and I don't hink he is the right man to improve this. I think his ideal game is one man rugby and a quick play of the ball, relying on the opposition to be out of position or fatigued. Its attritional rugby with no creativity.
I am also really annoyed he has openly stated he is looking for a position in Australia and that is why he has not yet signed for 2026. It's very unprofessional. Why would the players give their all for a bloke that is wanting to leave? it just creates uncertainty in the players minds. For me , if we could get Rowley tomorrow I would not hesitate and put BA on the next plane out.
