So, so sad. An absolute legend on and off the field.

He, his family and friends (inc Kevin) have been through so much and deserve everyone's utmost respect.

Rob has been a constant in my life since I was 15. I never met him, but I feel like I've lost a member of my family. Rest in peace, mate, your deeds on and off the field will live forever.

A great player and a great man. Just a pity he and to get seriously ill for the rest of the country to appreciate him . RIP

We were so lucky to witness his skill and bravery over the years. Inspirational person on every level.

I never met him properly, but once ran into him in a quiet tea room in York with my Mum. He seemed such a normal and grounded guy.

I remember seeing his debut against Hull and thinking he'd never make it because of his size. What did I know! He was great at proving the doubters wrong, even later in his career when he make it impossible for Brian Mac to leave him out of the side because of his electric game-changing running, epitomised by the GF try against Saints.
