Quote leeds owl="leeds owl"I’ve just had a look at the YEP’s correspondent player scores for the Dragons game, and I think he’s spot on.
He scores Croft 9, Handley 9 and Cam Smith 9 at the top end, and Frawley 6 and Mom 6 at the bottom end. I’m not saying he’s spot on because he agrees with me in contrast to you, because his opinion is like both yours and mine, just an opinion. What I will say is I wouldn’t score either Frawley or Mom higher than a 6 in any of the three games they’ve currently played. As for Frawley, poor penalty kicks to touch can happen, kicking out on the full can happen, but when these things happen in the same game that you’re kicking straight into the oppositions hands time after time it’s got to be classed as a poor kicking game. If it doesn’t get better than Saturday that kicking game will cost us. As for Mom, he seemed happy for Handley to make most of the hard carries when we were under the pump in that first half. I’d like to see him more involved in that respect. Like I say, he’s been fairly anonymous to me up to press. I hope he turns out to be a good signing, but his reputation means absolutely nothing until he does it in the blue and amber.'"
I can see where you're coming from here, time will tell.
Frawley I reckon will look better when we're in good ball putting attacking kicks on, rather than long clearance kicks because we've failed to gain any field position down the middle. I quite like that he's a reasonably big body, and he does take the line on at times - I think he'll make some breaks when the grounds are drier.
Mom I think is a quality player, but he's not player regularly for a while with a shoulder injury, not had the most consistent pre-season and is playing his first season here in winter conditions. I think in his case we'll start to see a different player once he's settled and the tracks are better. He should have some gas if he gets clear too. End of the day if he's contributing to Ash having a wow of a season I'll take it!
