So, anyone know what's going on given olpherts tweet, the supposed sighting of an unnamed shaven headed player and the supposed absence of olpherts at roundhay Park?

Keith Senior in to help coach the underperforming backs. He ended up re-enacting the time he battered Jon Wilkin, and Olpherts happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I would say the money released from Richie Mylers salary is available but has been parked while negotiation takes place with Harry Newman over a new contract. The smart move would be increased 3 year new contract now with an NRL release fee that reduces over the duration of the contract. That protects. If we got another 2 years from Harry before he went to the NRL that would probably be the best we could hope for and he would be marquee so relatively minimal impact on cap. Cam Smith now captain so between him and Newman there will be some cap space increase somewhere.

Don’t see Newman staying beyond this year unless injuries hit.

Whether he stays or goes I hope Leeds don’t get sucked in to overpaying him. I’m not sure he’s worth it yet and I do think the squad should be paid relatively fairly to each other.

This contract term has come around a year too soon really but it is what it is.

I suspect Harry wants to go to NRL, and will find a way eventually but it does annoy me because he just hasn’t added real value to the club yet.

I know players want the money and it’s a short career and all that, but really Harry should be loyal to Leeds and repay the faith and money the club have given him through thick and thin.
