Sutton would be a terrific signing if we don;t get Burgess. But... i'm sure RS said there's only 3 spots to fill in his opinion, so if Morimovski & Croft come in that only leaves one more... so Mcshane could be that one not a prop which would be a bad move imo. We need a big hitter.

I think sharky mentioned the unexpected signing weeks ago, before the press have started reporting it. Now that the press and the club have reported it, his source confirmed it.

Leeds will use marquee new signings to help launch new shirt / season ticket sales for commercial impact of course.

This deal could have been done 2 months ago and they still would have kept a lid on it.

Sound like Momirovski was done a few weeks ago too - they are holding back announcing to get the timing right.

I’m guessing there is still a chance Croft could fall through having said that, it’s quite a complicated deal with the NRL protections and personal terms etc etc.

I’ve kinda moved on now and I’m already interested in these next 1-2 signings to see where we go. No idea about Sutton I don’t watch much NRL: would he be a good fit for us?

Yeah I know….sorry…I missed the ‘beforehand’ from your post this morning. On first reading I thought you were implying there was another unexpected signing that your source couldn’t name….I now realise you were talking about the unexpected signing you mentioned weeks ago (ie Croft) as opposed to someone other than Croft

Jim, won't let me quote your post but imo Sutton would be a really good fit for us, good age at 28 right in his prime with nearly 100 NRL appearances. 6ft2, very strong with a good engine and as he's English he's likely to stay here until retirement so would be a really good bit of business. Ideally would prefer Burgess as he's more impactful but Sutton would be a very good alternative.

I think its a done deal as i doubt Rob Oats and Hetherington would have joked about the player.

Cheers pal. My only observation is whether Sutton gives us something we don’t already have or just more of the same - I.e. we have a bunch of 6’2”-6’3” strong props already.

I do think we need 6 props going into the season ideally. Competition for places and cover for the inevitable injuries.

I’m still holding out a small hope for Eseh; much much cheaper than a Sutton or Burgess but gives us power and depth.. happy with either option TBH.

We must sign McDonnell where is that news??
