Shaw didn't know much about Miller or Frawley until they were basically done. He feeds off agents and clubs. If the agents and clubs arent willing to help he doesn't find out stuff.

I wasn't suggesting he has a crystal ball. My point is - he normally gets the story. In fairness, he reported we were in the market for Miller a couple of months before we signed him and historically his sources have been pretty good. Seems to be struggling at present though.

Let’s hope no news is good news. We are going to struggle next year if we don’t bring in some real form and quality.

That sounds like a 'Iestyn Harris debacle' waiting to happen again.

If I remember rightly Harris was also forced to compensate Leeds / Bradford were?

Ii can see how players might develop a combative attitude to clubs - after all, you’ll be ditched off if they can find a better player in your position.

Some players are a bit numb in commercial/contractual/ethical matters though.

We need 3 players of star quality to make the play offs next season.

Without that we miss out once more. Just the thought of us missing out again is horrific!

I’d like to think we’ll land a decent 7 and centre. Wonder where else we’ll recruit because as Clues says, we only have 2 quota spots left.

The hints that we already have a couple of signings lined up from GH/RS suggest that that these are a half and a forward one quota and one British. Logically the position unfilled would be centre and quota as this was not planned for before Macdonald situation and this is where we are searching currently. No announcements would seem to signify that these are contracted players who are still involved in their domestic competitions and no details will be released until the season has concluded.
All the signs are that the half is currently playing in Superleague as cannot see an obvious available option from any of the 4 remaining teams in the NRL competition although would find a spot for Jones or Cleary (fantasy world)

I’m still mulling overt the Harvey Smith rumour - not sure the signing will help us 2024 but if he is good then maybe the year after…

We do have form on this when we signed O’Connor and Walters from Widnes academy.

I’m not sure who the 7 will be that will be an improvement on Sezer, who is going to an NRL club…

I’d like to see those 2 spots filled as well as a big pack leader/ good pro type. A mouthy Matt Prior would be good.

How much money do we have?
As Bang, Arthur and many others have said we need real quality now in the first 13. No more projects and fillers.

Looking at how many HKR have brought into the backs, I worry one of the incoming is Milnes. Hoping for better.

I do think we'll sign Sam Powell from Wigan, haven't got a clue about the others, I think we might be surprised though, there will be movement in the off season in the NRL.
