| Quote MjM="MjM"If Leeds hold his registration he can't play for another club in NRL or Super League. That's nothing to do with being bad bosses. If he wants to play for another Rugby League club then Leeds have every right to compensation.'"
This isn’t strictly true. Holding his registration simply means he cannot enter any RFL sanctioned competition. The NRL isn’t an RFL sanctioned competition so their administrators could simply wave him through. The RFL make a big show of working collaboratively in these incidents when it’s an Australian player coming to the UK by maintaining their rulings, but the NRL would do whatever suits them best at the time. Since there is no governing body which both the RFL and NRL submit to there is no way to universally ban him.
It would absolutely be a breach of contract if he did that, but it would be on Leeds to pursue that through the courts.

Hopefully NRL will have some integrity. SL problem I'd that if a SL team wades in on a contracted NRL player he's probably out of favour anyway so the side would be happy for the cap space. Real shame all this as he was playing well in a not great side and had just extended contract. Must be some AUD waved in front of him.

I don't disagree, and we certainly don't know the full story. However, if, and it's still an if at this stage, he isn't returning (it was mentioned earlier that CS was fairly adamant on Saturday that he wasn't) then the contractual side of things becomes, or should become, paramount for the club.

| I can’t see the NRL supporting Nene over the entire Super League comp to be fair, outside backs like him are ten a penny over there although I do think he could still play NRL.
I’m sure we will find out what’s happening in due course but losing him would not be helpful towards our push for 2024.

| I don't know anything about the circumstances here but all this talk of compensation and holding registration etc is a waste of everyone's time. Contracts are meaningless nowadays. We all know if he doesn't want to come back he won't come back, he'll get a gig elsewhere and we won't get any compensation from anyone.

More than anything, it's a huge blow to RS's leadership. He was his man, and it looks like Nene has stabbed him in the back. Could be massively undermining for RS as head coach.
This is just another huge embarrassment for the club on so many levels - why not let him have proper paternity leave? Why put out the statement and create speculation? Why isn't the head coach in the know?
And the biggest question of all, why do so many player seem like they want to leave the club?

| Sam Lisone now has more tries in one game than Liam Tindall (a winger) has managed for Leeds 1st team in his entire career.
I think that about says it all.

Also said that the club hadnt heard anything from MacDonald, sounds like hes AWOL.

None of this is true though.
