| I get very frustrated with all the fans calling for gravy now. I've been following for over 40 years and feel extremely grateful that I got to see the golden generation at all in my lifetime. I understand the younger generation didn't know anything different but this is sport and if I'm honest it would be great but boring if we never lost.
Isn't that the point of being a fan, follow your team through thick and thin. I guess there will always be some fairweather supporters and they are entitled to their opinions, just makes my blood boil their self proclaimed entitlement.
Edit: Amended swear word

| I've been a fan for 40+ years too. I understand what you're saying, but I don't think its entitlement to expect the club to do better than it has in managing the end of the Goldens, and to suggest that if we are move upwards by signing players in key positions we need to go for the absolute best we can. I don't think anyone could hand on heart say our signings have been the best they could be over almost the past decade.

This is exactly how I feel about the situation too. I’ve been following for about 35 years so have seen plenty of ups and downs and false starts. I agree we were fortunate to see the Goldens but it really didn’t have to end the way it did. We’ve messed up almost continuously since 2015, with the occasional success, but overall there’s just not been enough thought and planning to manage the (now at least 8 year) transition since.
I’ve no doubts that we will improve eventually, and I certainly don’t think we have any god given right to success, but the way the last 8 years have been handled is pretty amateur for a club with our facilities and resources.
All I want is a team that works its nuts off, frequently and consistently, and gives everything it can to be successful. If that means we win trophies then great, but at least we will have tried our best if we don’t.

| I dont think it's the lack of success people are frustrated with.
it's the lack of progress towards a rebuild that will see us performing well and moving back into the top 4,rather than bouncing between near relegation and mid table or the occasional highlight appearance in a play off or semi etc

| I think it has been more a case of concentration on off field things like the rebuild and post covid crisis management.
I agree that onfield activity has been lacking but honestly think it's part of a cycle. I've seen a lot of sport clubs suffer onfield while offfield things are sorted and that goes from the very top down to grass roots.
I'm not happy with what we have served up since 2015 apart from the odd highlight bit will continue to go to home games, buy my season ticket and it would take something absolutely catastrophic to change that. I was talking with my friends and we all agreed that if the worst happened and we were relegated, unfortunately we have had to have this discussion in recent years, that we would continue with our season tickets. Probably not take in as many away games bit would still buy merchandise and support the team we love, not threaten to walk away when times are tough.
Yes we are one of the biggest clubs of not the biggest in the UK Northern hemisphere, probably the best resources and arguably the best stadium. None of this gives us the right to be the best team. We have seen chequebook rugby fail time and time again at Warrington. It takes a lot to get a truly winning side, hats off to saints who have been the best at it for quite some time and have shown even over in Oz that they have what it takes. I have faith that we will have success again but faith is totaly different to demanding!

| why is everyone surprised about the lack of signings at this stage when every poster have been saying we should end the contracts for Austen Sezer and Tete and sign someone from the NRL. Hopefully the club has felt the same way and have been negotiating with good replacements but waiting to make plannned announcements at the proper time.

I suspect if the season hadn't been so consistently frustrating the field people would be a lot more relaxed about recruitment. As it is it’s only natural to want to look forward to better times and as it stands there isn't much to pin our hopes on. Just got to trust that GH and co to get it right and get behind the team for the rest of the year.

| The messages around recruitment arent very convincing either and I don't mean announcing signings but reading between the lines in the interviews where it comes up.

From a fans perspective yes. I share your frustration too. From the clubs perspective it's far better to under promise and over deliver than do the opposite. At Wire Powell never stopped wittering on about recruitment and which positions he wanted strengthening, which must have been extremely disheartening for the existing squad. On balance I prefer Smith's almost blanket refusal to discuss. As long as they sign Mitchell, Cleary, and Moses for next year.
