Quote ArthurClues="ArthurClues"What's hilarious is that Paul Cullen even heads the committee. He was the definition of "old school enforcer" as I remember him. Talk about poacher turned gamekeeper.'"
What do you think he'd give himself for this bit of blindside s***housery?

| The only frivolity I can see here is Paul Cullen's appointment as panel chair, at least based on the evidence of his playing career, in addition to several incomprehensible decisions of the panel this year.
IMO an ex-referee or administrator without strong connections to any of the clubs would make a lot more sense to head this panel than an ex-player with a reputation for foul play during his playing career.

Brilliant, certainly wasn’t hand bags at ten paces in those days.

| Quote Seth="Seth"But [uthe minimal and incidental touch on the end of Mellors nose on Martins arm brushing past to make the tackle around the ball[/u is not the contact the mrp spoke about trying to eliminate from the game. There is absolutely no head injury risk or 'flexion' (to use their other favourite F word) .
I hope leeds do have a very public response to the whole situation, but I hope the other clubs are part of the that too as this can't go on and it needs a collective stance..'"
do you mean the minimal and incidental touch on the end of Mellors nose on Martins arm brushing past to make the tackle that broke mellors nose?

Where’s it been stated that Mellor broke his nose?

I've not seen anywhere that it broke? Ask Mellor, he himself Said it wasn't a penalty let alone a ban.
Edit, seen he did break his nose. Still doesn't mean its a ban its pretty easily done with minimal contact like occurred.

| Back on the game, I wonder whether Newman is genuinely back in contention, whether Leeds are taking a big risk, or if this is just mind-games...

Or the fact Mellor has stated it wasn`t even a penalty similar to the refs view on the day?
Never a penalty no intent no knocking back of the head move on.
But the idiots on the panel thought Martin should be banned and to make it even more cringeworthy they increased the ban due to Leeds pointing out their error.
Pompous, arrogant or completely clueless I`m not really sure.

| Does it state who was on the panel and who was on the panel that felt it was a frivolous appeal?
