| Yusuf Aydin, yeah didn’t include him.
Suppose my question is, do we feel Oledzki, Tetevano, Prior, Holroyd & Sangare is enough depth?

100% no.
Holroyd has played 14 games in 4 years. We can't rely on his fitness.
And Walters is still a project and a couple of years away from being a potential rotation prop.
Said it many times, but we have had at leat 2 props sidelined all year.
And one of our back ups, Thompson, is leaving.
We are still one short in the squad.

| I think we’re one extra prop short.
Say it quietly but I think Tetevano has turned a corner the last couple of games. The gambles are prior and that edge of the cliff, and holroyds fitness.

By my reckoning we could do with about a 20% increase in our go forward and a similar reduction in our go backward. If fans expect Sangare to do that on his own he's in for a rough ride..
That said, I'd be interested in Rohan's take on the importance of a dominant pack. I've heard him criticise and praise our attack, same with our goal line defence. But he seems to say little about metres made or conceded which seems odd, given we've seemingly struggled on both counts at times. I'm curious whether his non mention of these areas stems from it simply being an area which he feels he can do little about given the players he has, or whether he's simply not wedded to the orthodoxy of a strong pack being essential to success..

| Well we're definitely adding some size to the pack with Sangare, McDonnell and Ruan (rumoured)
All 3 look massive lads.

While I share your concern about Holroyd it's only fair to note that he's played 28 first team games (not including friendlies) over the last four years. I would say that is probably about on the curve for a 21 year old prop. I was really frustrated when he got his whopping ban, but that's because of his obvious potential. If he plays 20 games next season our middle unit will be very different. Just got to trust Hunwicks and Smith to develop him.

| If our prop rotation, in no particular order, is Oledzki, Prior, Tetevano, Holroyd, Sangare and 1 other we will go OK next season if they stay fit and available enough.
If the 1 other was a starter we’d be better, but the season after I’m expecting a big improvement as both Prior and Tetevano will be gone, and must be replaced with much better.

| Ruan looks capable of moving to prop. I'd rather sign him than Mulhern, who tries hard but wouldn't be more than a reserve even amongst our current props. If we were to sign another experienced one they need to be able to help take on Sts and co.

I get the feeling Smith is a bit unorthodox in how he views the game and his tactics.
Look at how we’re defending, we’re not using much line speed, so it often looks like were being rolled over.
I think he’s knocked back a few questions on stats in his pressers pretty much saying there is only one stat that matters.
I think he realises we need a stronger pack but I don’t think it’s essential to how he thinks about the game.

There's always plenty of young and rough Talented diamonds out there in the lower leagues, All they need is polishing.
Darren Fleary is a perfect example of how a lower league player's potential can be spotted and that once he was signed he was given the coaching and guidance required to enable him to progress to actually playing International footy
