Wow, that's a really weak team. One genuine SL level Prop and no (currently) SL level halfbacks. I'm sure they will try hard, but where the hell are the points going to come from?

What are we doing to get so many injuries, do we just buy players who are more susceptible? Something is seriously wrong, and we have a set of boneheads for props.

I think Newman's attitude is exactly why he will become a greater players than Watkins.

He has the right amount of ego and self-belief that Watkins never had.

To me, Watkins could have been the greatest in SL history based on his physical ability. I think it was more a mindset/lack of ego that stopped him going to that level.

Newman and Welsby both posses that competitive edge and ego that it takes to become great.

All my opinion of course.

He reminds me a lot of Sam Tomkins attitude wise at a similar age and I think he'll go on to be a player who you love as one of your own but gets a lot of grief from opposition fans/players. I can see Newman flicking the Vs a the crowd at a final try quite easily! Only problem is you'd get a 17 game ban for that nowadays!

Heaven forbid a sports person show some character!! They should all churn out the same quotes and clichés and keep everything vanilla. Nothing wrong with having some arrogance, as long as it doesn't alienate him from his team. But the greats always have that arrogance which pushes them on

Watkins was a confidence player - when he had Ben Jones Bishop outside him he was a different player. Very gifted individual.
